Dani raised her shoulders as her expression turned to one of confusion for her brother who expected her to have the answers to his questions. The redhead was surprised to have gotten as much information as she had when staring down the barrel of the gun at the magic shop. While neither of them said it they knew who the other was within seconds and played it cool enough to get through the conversation. "I doubt it, doesn't seem like they're the type to do it so publically. Winnie's way too calculated for that shit." It wasn't her motive or at least Dany didn't think so, still trying to determine what could've brought back the witch in the first place. "Do you think they opened something? Way too many people that are supposed to be dead keep coming around or at least that's what the hot goss is at the shop." There had been a few cases where someone came in claiming they saw the dead but now it was Dani who had seen a ghost from her past. "I mean not today...." Her voice faded off, realizing she'd been caught in her own secrets. "I might've seen Mary around town a few times but I didn't wanna freak you out if it was nothing." She offered a smile in the hopes he didn't blow a fuse like she was expecting, knowing secrets between them were frowned upon but having a fair share of her own. "Wait, what?" Dani's expression changed to one of annoyance, her eyebrows knitting and lips thinning. "I can't just quit. I actually like this job and I'm not scared of them. They can't just make me into soup anymore or you know, whatever way they like their kids cooked." The girl's arms folded over her chest as she looked up at her concerned brother. "I'm not running away."

Max believed his sister, regardless the mechanics of how the sisters had come back. The many questions she had were all valid: it wasn't Halloween, there should be no way how they could come back as though nothing had happened. And, she really was on the lookout to get to Billy, they would have to find him, and quickly. "No, no, I think they had some shit going on long before we knew them. Figures that she's still pissed." The Sandersons had never been known to let go of a grudge, no matter how old, which meant that the Dennisons and Allison were fucked. "Do you think it has something to do with the borders being fucked with? Wasn't there a shitstorm at that festival, or whatever?" They were way out of their own league, having to deal with the witches roaming free for who knew how long. According to what he'd read, back when they'd summoned the sisters, they'd only been allowed to survive for a night. Now, who knew how long they'd be around. "You didn't see any of the others, did you? I wonder if she's alone, or if they came in a package." Max paused, huffing at the sight on his watch of how much longer he'd had left in his shift. "You can stay here, if you don't have to get back to work, until I get off. Actually, maybe, you should consider quitting, if you think she recognized you. We can't have the other two just showing up now that they know where you work," he argued, sincere. Maybe it was dramatic, but it was the precaution they had to take if Dani wanted to stay safe.

༝༝ 🔮 ༝༝
They both kept what they knew to themselves, faking smiles and forcing small talk as if the last they met hadn't been in an attempt to destroy one another. As fate would have it they'd tripped into each other's lap's once again. "Sounds about right for a man," Dani said over her shoulder once they reached a halt. The redhead didn't need to move her gaze to know exactly where the others had gone. It was the very same that had caused so much trouble the first time around. "Cheating is one thing but stealing your books? It's like they don't want women to read and learn about rights anymore." The girl's voice did more than her words to show the sarcasm she meant in the statement. It was a relief at hearing she hadn't expected to see Dani here, feeling as though it was a small win for Winnie to have not come intending to find the younger redhead. "Might as well be, I came in here enough that I got a part-time job while I'm in school. Most of the time they hide me in the back." She gave a shrug, not wanting to give Winnie a good look into her business, and shifted the conversation to the inevitable. "So what book is it you wanted to see?"
Tumblr media
It happened simultaneously, Winifred could tell: the two redheads recognized each other. The girl wasn't the same age as she was a decade ago, like Winnie was, but she now must have been in her twenties. If it wasn't for the sudden attack on all people magical in town, Danielle Dennison would've been quickly evaporated into thin air, brought home with Winnie to finally get around to the end of sucking the life out of her in exchange for looking like this for longer. Instead, thanks to her sisters' updates, she knew better than to identify herself immediately.
"What hasn't he done?" Winnie sighed exasperatedly, playing along with the charade the younger girl was keeping up. She could dance around the obvious, if that was what the other redhead wanted. "The usual infidelity, as to be expected of a man with his intelligence. But, the disrespect of stealing my books, too," she trailed off with a roll of her eyes, toying at the very book she'd come in search of. "Apologies--you work here? I thought I was just asking an informed-looking patron. What's your name, dear?" Winnie asked, flashing a grin as she awaited an answer she already knew.

༝༝ 🔮 ༝༝
Little did her brother know the bomb she was about to drop, Dani hurrying him with good reason. They had escaped the grasp of the Sanderson sisters once and expected to never need to do it again. This time they weren't children, a meal waiting to be devoured but she couldn't shake the fear that came over her once she fully realized what had occurred. While at the shop she'd been able to maintain her composure but now that Dani had reunited with her brother she'd gone off the rails. "Literally like she has been sleeping on ice since then," the redhead said in regards to the witch's appearance. "She wanted to find a hex for Billy, you don't think he would've done anything, right?" While Dani wouldn't expect their vampiric friend to have set free the woman he hated one could never be too sure. When it came to magic it could be a domino effect and set off without anyone even knowing. "How is it like even possible for them to come back without the candle?" She shook her head, knowing these were answers she wouldn't be coming to at the moment. "All I know is it was her."
Tumblr media
There were only two people who could acceptably, and would realistically, burst into this particular record store. And, from the moment he heard his name being called at the desk, Max knew exactly which of the two it was. With a near silent groan to himself, he made his way from the back room to the counter, hoping someone hadn't died, or he wasn't being pranked. "What, Danielle?" he asked exasperatedly. "What could be so dire that you pulled me from my stock sorting?" His frustration was quickly replaced with shock as a name Max thought he'd never hear again was uttered. As much as he didn't want to believe that it was true, sightings of Mary and Sarah hadn't been mistakes--their sister had to have been soon to follow. "Oh, fuck me," Max blurted under his breath, his head flopping into his hands as he leaned against the counter. "Fuck, dude. What did she even look like: the same? Also, I thought we got rid of that motherfucking candle. There's no way some asshole could've lit it this time--it's not even Halloween." How the hell the sisters come back, now all three of them, Max had no idea, but he did know that they were exponentially fucked. It had been one thing surviving their wrath the first time, but now, the Sandersons knew who they were, and they couldn't have been happy.

༝༝ 🔮 ༝༝
Dani bopped her head to the music coming from her headphones, fingers dancing along the shelves as she restocked some of the latest returns. Most of the time it helped her avoid any unwanted social interactions, especially those idiots who came in here having no idea what the shop even was and needed a handholding explanation through magic. Her co-worker was scheduled to work the register which meant the redhead could escape into the back for most of the day, only needing to emerge to put things in their place. "Hm?" Dani asked pulling her headphones off so that she could give the customer full attention. "Oh, those are over-" She paused suddenly, being overcome with shock upon seeing the face she'd thought was gone for years now looking like it hadn't aged a day. So far she hadn't been recognized which to the redhead meant she needed to play it cool so as to not give it away. "You know, let me just show you. What did the idiot do?" Smalltalk wasn't usually her go-to, but in this situation playing a little extra dumb was the only thing that made sense. Dani only had a short period of time to work with, their destination not being more than ten feet away and she didn't want to waste it.

who: winnie & @weirdosareout where: olde salem magic shoppe
It wasn't the best supply store Winifred had ever been to, but the magic shop she'd found in town, near Mary's own, had enough that would do, for now. She wasn't expecting to find much of her old, quality things in their own house; there must have been teenagers who'd snuck in over the years to take it from the ruins of when she assumed the two boys they'd locked up in the ceiling had been taken down. It was high time she started fresh, anyway--perhaps these new supplies would last her another three hundred years, and, by then, maybe she'd find a better place for replacement parts. Winnie was nothing without her book, of course: she had no idea where the Dennisons had hid it after they'd sent them back to the undead.
It was with the books behind a cage (likely because they were too dangerous for foolish mortals to use) that she spotted another bright red head of hair, one that reminded her a bit of herself when she was that age. "Have you seen any spell books in this section, perchance?" she asked innocently, hoping the girl would be knowledgeable enough to direct her before she had to go bother the prepubescent boy behind the counter. "I'm trying to see if I can figure out how to hex an ex-boyfriend of mine, you must understand."

who: @maxximillions where: put your records on
She was going to fly off the hinges if she didn't tell someone stat about what had just occurred at the magic shop. The words kept almost slipping out before she'd even gotten to his work but Dani wanted to say it in person so Max could see this was a serious matter. That's why the redhead had sprinted down Main Street in order to tell her brother as soon as possible. As the girl skidded to a stop in front of the cashier her knuckles were already rapidly pressing down on the bell to ring for service. "Max, Max, Max, Max," she repeated looking around the corner as her brother emerged from the back of the establishment. "Hurry up I have like big, mega, super massive news and I'm going to burst if I have to keep it in any longer." An exaggeration but he could at least walk a little bit faster or so Dani thought. It wasn't until Max had made it to the register where she knew no one would hear that the words were finally freed. "I just saw Winnie Sanderson at the magic shop," the girl blurted, her voice lowering exceptionally when uttering the name of the witch.

Dani was only eleven years old when her family moved from the city life to the tucked away isle of Echo. Her mother was from there and she spoke highly of the town, even though she never told anyone why she left. Dani was too young to really care if she moved or not, so she adjusted just fine despite everyone calling her and her older brother Max a freak. She was a spunky kid and didn’t take kindly to rude people and gave them just what they dished out, even if that landed her into trouble here and there. The only thing about the move that really bothered her was how distant Max was being. The two of them were very close growing up and then they moved and suddenly he was embarrassed by her. She played it off, she tried to be the best annoying sister she could be, but it stung for him to be so cold towards her. She had hoped it would change when he had to take her trick-or-treating for their first Halloween in the new town, but the beginning was rough and he was a little mean until he had made her cry. His way of trying to cheer her up was letting her explore the museum dedicated to the witches of Echo, but he was playing around with the black flame candle that belonged to the Sanderson sisters and then things took a turn for the worst. He basically summoned the witches to them and they tried to kill her and Max for their youth. If it wasn’t for Max’s friend Allison and a stranger by the name of Thackery Binx, they would have been done for.
After they defeated the Sanderson Sisters, their research really started to take shape. It had become Dani and Allison's life to find out what exactly happened that night but also how to make sure it didn't again. That's where the redhead started to think about her future with Max and Allison, expecting them to get married once they graduated but life had other plans. When the older girl left to continue her research it was Dani that also got left behind and had to keep going on her own. She knew there was something they were missing, she could feel it like a dull ache in her bones but was unable to pinpoint where it was from. Max didn't change much. His sister was worried he might never get his spunk back, having never been the same since Allison left no matter how hard she tried to rouse him. That never stopped Dani from trying. When she enrolled in the University she knew exactly what she wanted to study so she could eventually go on to work in archeology to spread the word that the abnormal isn't all that abnormal after all. Now she's doing her best to keep her grades up and make sure her brother doesn't go around lighting any more candles.
Since Allison's come back things are starting to feel complete again. She's hopeful that with the blonde here they will finally be able to figure out what they're missing.
Halloween is still her favorite time of year. Dani always goes all out on her costumes and throws themed parties. These started the second she wasn't able to go trick or treating anymore, hoping to continue the tradition for as long as she can.
Her brother is the person she's closest to in her family. After what they went through it felt like no one else could understand or even wanted to. What divides them is the fact that he wants nothing to do with the things they experienced and it drives Dani. In the past, she blamed him for Allison leaving but he's starting to come around.
She works part-time at the old salem magic shoppe. Between classes, she fits in a shift or two to make some extra money to live.
Dani's first encounter with powers started when she was out journaling at the park and accidentally sent a tidal wave of wind when she sneezed. She still isn't sure what caused is but has been trying to find out what she is capable of. The girl hasn't told anyone yet in case her theory is wrong, wanting to get control of it as much as possible to not freak out her brother.
