I feel really stupid because I didn't realize Temeraire was named after a ship until I read League of Dragons in english.

Why? In my copy of His Majesty's Dragon, the translator notes say that "Temeraire" is a word game about boats, so I supposed through nine books that "temeraire" was a joke between seamen like naming your cat "soul eater" or something.

Until I read the line where the Temeraire ship said hi to the Temeraire dragon and I was like: wait a minute—

HOWEVER. Have this Laurence doodle , this time with his scars, because he was not laurencing without them

I can not blame Lady Allendale for thinking Emily is Laurence's daughter. She technically is. This man has been in her life since she was ten years old and dates her mother. There is no more "dad that stepped in" thing in this world.

And i forgot Laurence's scars, how silly of me! Sorry.

Random thought: As far as I remember, in Empire of Ivory we learn that people can "reincarnate" in dragons (the dragons learn how to be people from inside the eggs). So... what if after Laurence passes away, Temeraire tries that method to bring him back and now we have a dragon who knows about laurence and thinks they are him... but all they know is Temeraire's perspective.

And after that Iskierka tries to do it too and now we have Granby and Laurence trying to keep their dragons sane, but getting consumed by the inmense amount of emotions that go through a dragon's head themselves.

And , as they are popular and usually influence others, the other dragons try and now we have an epidemic of dragons who think they are deceased captains and act like such, but only act as their dragons' perspective of themselves.

Poor Chuan. Isnt it sad how Tem only got to see his twin once and then Chuan got murdered? Its like... really tragic. Just a short period of time, just an ephemeral ocurrence... to fade away in time

I find it interesting how Temeraire and Lien seem to be just the same at times, one more mature than the other, of course, but still... oddly similar in their actions.
