Effect of Greek Financial Crisis on the British Economy Essay Effects of the economic crisis on health and healthcare in Greece in the literature from 2009 to 201
Due to the current economic crisis in Greece, effects on health and healthcare have been reported. Effects of the economic crisis on health and healthcare in Greece in the literature from 2009 to 2013: A systematic review. The aim of this study was to present a systematic overview of the consequences that the financial crisis has had for health and healthcare in Greece. Systematic literature review was conducted in order to identify articles that were published from January 2009 to March 2013 and explicitly referred to the effects of economic crisis on health or healthcare, in Greece. Data extraction and synthesis was performed with the use of thematic analysis. Thirty-nine studies were considered for further analyses. Various existing and potential relevant effects were identified, including reductions in public health expenditure and changes in healthcare services and the pharmaceutical market, with an increasing number of admissions in public healthcare sector, and efficiency and organizational-related issues being evident, overall. Indications were found for post-crisis deterioration of public health with increasing rates of mental health, suicides, and epidemics, and deterioration of self-rated health. The recent efforts to reform the Greek National Health System have been focusing mainly on short-term effects by reducing expenditure, while the measures imposed seem to have dubious long-term consequences for Greek public health and healthcare. cheap write my essay the cause of globalization Teaching Guide for Globalization Essays
Thanks to satellite technology, CNN and its few competitors extend their reach to even the most geographically remote areas of the world. Cheap write my essay the cause of globalization. Teaching Guide for "Globalization" Essays. Teachers may want to have the students read this introduction before they read the essays on "Globalization" to provide a basic understanding of the concepts included therein. Globalization" is a term that came into popular usage in the 1980's to describe the increased movement of people, knowledge and ideas, and goods and money across national borders that has led to increased interconnectedness among the world's populations, economically, politically, socially and culturally. Although globalization is often thought of in economic terms (i.e., "the global marketplace"), this process has many social and political implications as well. Many in local communities associate globalization with modernization (i.e., the transformation of "traditional" societies into "Western" industrialized ones). At the global level, globalization is thought of in terms of the challenges it poses to the role of governments in international affairs and the global economy. There are heated debates about globalization and its positive and negative effects. While globalization is thought of by many as having the potential to make societies richer through trade and to bring knowledge and information to people around the world, there are many others who perceive globalization as contributing to the exploitation of the poor by the rich, and as a threat to traditional cultures as the process of modernization changes societies. There are some who link the negative aspects of globalization to terrorism. To put a complicated discussion in simple terms, they argue that exploitative or declining conditions contribute to the lure of informal "extremist" networks that commit criminal or terrorist acts internationally. And thanks to today's technology and integrated societies, these networks span throughout the world. It is in this sense that terrorism, too, is "globalized." The essays in this section address some of the complex questions associated with globalization in light of September 11. Before moving to these essays, consider the discussion below about some of the economic, political, social and cultural manifestations of globalization. Economic manifestations of globalization. Increasingly over the past two centuries, economic activity has become more globally oriented and integrated. Some economists argue that it is no longer meaningful to think in terms of national economies; international trade has become central to most local and domestic economies around the world.... should i put all my ap scores on the common app Should I put all my AP scores on the common app, Yahoo Answers
Edit: Also, I forgot to mention that I have heard from a variety of sources that colleges look at your AP scores a lot more for class placement purposes AFTER you have been admitted than for admissions purposes; for admissions, they'll focus more on your SAT/ACT, grades, EC's, leadership, letters of rec, essays, etc. Should I put all my AP scores on the common app? USC and the UC's have separate apps that don't ask for the AP scores. I had a similar question. I'm applying to Yale, Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, Duke, Emory, Vanderbilt, Wash U, Georgetown, UChicago, and University of Tennessee Knoxville. While my class rank (3/461), SAT score (2280), ACT score (34), and SAT Subject test scores (800, 800, 780) are fairly strong, my AP scores are not that great (one 5, 5 4's, and a 2). The 2 was in AP Latin Vergil, and I had gotten a 102 in the class and finished Latin I, II, and II with grades of 99, 100, and 100, respectively, so I asked my guidance counselor if I should even report that score, as it could raise red flags. She called Princeton University for me, briefly explaining my situation and asking if it would be better to send or omit the 2. An admissions officer answered, and he told her that it would be better to send the 2, since not sending the 2 would cause them to wonder why I had taken the class and chose not to take the AP exam (so it would look even more suspicious to NOT include the 2). Furthermore, they commented that Princeton's admissions officers evaluate applicants holistically and will NOT reject applicants on the basis of one bad test score. Additionally, they told me that if there was a good explanation for the abnormally low test score, I should include that in my application. I think it's safe to assume that the rest of the schools on my list and on yours feel the same way. I did end up including the 2 in the resume I attached to the Common App, and I honestly do not believe that it will make or break my application. That being said, I would include the 1 if I were you. If you have a GOOD explanation about why you got the 1 (being hospitalized for several weeks right before the test and taking the test while still feeling like total crap is a good excuse; "The class was so easy that I passed with a 97 playing Tetris on my calculator all semester without learning a thing" is NOT; also, I would try to refrain from blaming teachers, as it shows lack of responsibility and initiative on your behalf), then be sure to include that in your applications; if not, then just submit the score without any explanation, and rest assured that you are very, very unlikely to be reject solely on the basis of one low score. Furthermore, Chopin’s effort to bring before her readers the harshness of a loveless and emotionless married life can be easily seen in The Story of an Hour by going through the complex sentence constructions like in the following line: “What did it matter! What could love, the unsolved mystery, count for in the face of this possession of self-assertion which she suddenly recognized as the strongest impulse of her being! By avidly reading such lines it can be understood that Chopin did deliberately use such complex sentences to convey the complexities of a loveless married life in which wife is like a prisoner bound to adhere to the traditional rules of the society which enforces her to be dutiful to her husband even if the latter did never show any warmth of lover to her.... Essay about story of an hour The Story of an Hour - Sample Essays
Furthermore, Chopin, in this story, tried to reveal the joy of liberation from an unsuccessful marital relation by using euphonious words and such usage can be found in this line: “The delicious breath of rain was in the air” (Chopin, 1894). The Story of an Hour. The Story of an Hour is one of the greatest short stories ever written in English language. In this story Kate Chopin meticulously incorporated her unique style of writing and through such infusion the author tried to convey to the readers the pains and agonies from which women usually suffered while dwelling within the male dominated society. By presenting before the readers the emotional turmoil and psychological transition of the protagonist Mrs. Millard, Chopin succeeded to reveal the dark truths of married life, a life in which, conventionally, women are held imprisoned by rigid social conventions. By conveying the positive emotional state of Mrs. Millard, along with the a sense of triumph, which she experienced after learning about her husband’s death, clearly points to the fact that the central theme of the story is undoubtedly about the relation between marriage and imprisonment which no one but an unhappily married woman can understand. Though not stated directly by Chopin, the pivotal theme of the story circles round the dilemma from which women usually suffer when they are forced to lead a married life devoid of love and freedom and this theme has been conveyed scrupulously by the author through the infusion of selective style of writing, sentence structure, word use, use of figure of speech, and use of symbolism. In this story Chopin did employ the strategy of third person omniscient point of view which is “a method of storytelling in which the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of all of the characters in the story” (Wiehardt, n. To ascertain the implementation of such method one can quote the following line: “But she felt it, creeping out of the sky, reaching toward her through the sounds, the scents, the color that filled the air” (Chopin, 1894). Going through this line it can be understood that the narrator is like a God who can read the mind of the character and can understand her thoughts and feelings and moreover, the narrator has an all-pervasive presence which enables her to know about the emotional and physical transitions of the character perfectly. Hence, from this perspective it can be said that in The Story of an Hour, in order to reveal the joy of a woman who has just been liberated from the prison of her dejected married life, Kate Chopin did use the third person omniscient method of storytelling. Kate Chopin had a unique style of writing an in this story she did scrupulously amalgamate her emotional style of writing through which she “actively searched for female spiritual emancipation” (Deter, n. Chopin was a feminist writer who, unlike many other feminist writers of her time, wanted to upheld the personal freedom of women through judging the traditional outlooks of both women and men. Some of the marine organisms that are associated with coral reefs go directly to our stomach. Coral Reef Essay. Get custom essay sample written according to your requirements. Mr. KrupensHow Can We Preserve the World’s Coral Reefs Critical Thinking Questions and AnswersHow does the current state of the world’s coral reefs illustrate each of the six key themes of this book? Human population: With current state of coral reefs, we are definitely valuing the quality of life of a person living today because of the fact that coral reefs are indirectly, sometimes directly, destroyed by over fishing using the methods such as using dynamites or cyanides which causes corals to be destroyed and damaged. However we have to start thinking about the future generations. Sustainability: With current state of coral reefs, the persistence of these resources for future generations is more important because of the fact that coral reefs provide priceless economic benefits (worth $375 billion dollars) and it is slowly getting destroyed. Global Perspective: With current state of coral reefs, we have to value the environment of the entire planet otherwise numerous species of sea organisms, such as fishes, will lose their home which may cause other predators to eventually die out too. This will cause domino effect just by coral reefs getting destroyed around the world, which will bring huge economic and environmental effect on human. Urban World: Both human creativity and persistence of certain endangered species are important because for sure human creativity can be used to save the endangered species. For example, using art to advertise- giving awareness about endangered species. Using science to create medications for endangered species. This means we can help save coral reefs by using human creativity. People and Nature: If people have altered the environment for much of the time our species has been on earth, the word “natural” can be referred to as places where it is undeveloped by human kind. For example, very deep in the ocean bottom. Science and Values: We need knowledge about our environment so human kind can last for longest period we can possibly stay on earth for, and in order to do that, we have to cooperate with our environment and we have to study our environment. What are the utilitarian, ecological, aesthetic, and moral justification for preserving coral reefs? Utilitarian justification: Coral reefs are associated to 1 million marine organisms....
