izzie would not have broken up with casey if it werent for what doug said. yeah she had insecurities and blamed herself but there were no indications she would have done that and in fact she wanted to help and it wasnt until dougs grown ass told her it was her fault casey was depressed and quitting track that she broke up with casey. a GROWN ASS man told a vulnerable SIXTEEN year old his daughters poor mental health was her fault. it wasnt "izzies immaturity" the reason they broke up it was an adult man that knew better putting all this shit on her and izzie trying to do what she believed was the right thing
not to mention all the shit and responsibility izzie already carries around and doug saying that was essentially validating the shit her mom is constantly telling her
#cazzie#he lost it at a vulnerable 17 year old girl who internalizes everything#izzie tries so hard#love that they are endgame#but that asshole really pissed me off with audacity to put that all on a child
