English is the most common language to connect people from different parts of the world but what happen when we visit a country and there is no signs or explanations in English? Naturally we try some translation apps to simple words and expressions. It works (most of the time) with traditional languages such as German, Frensh, Italian, Portuguese but what happen when we try to translate something into Welsh for example?
Minority language are very often forgotten and can cause big mistakes in casual situations like ask for directions or just say “Hi” to someone. In our class we have the opportunity to learn with native people their own culture, food and language every day.
As a web developers we have to keep improving our work and looking for different ways to integrate people. Google Translate is one of the most popular app for translation but it’s just translate words and sometimes the meaning can change depend on the situation or sentence. If you try to translate "Blasting in Progress" into Welsh for instance you will get "Gweithwyr yn ffrwydro" or "workers exploding" as they explain on the text.
It is no possible to predict when the human communication will change in a way that we won’t have awkward situation but many research are in progress and like Mr. Lample said on the text: "We may be able to learn to communicate with friendly aliens,"... "But first they would need to talk a lot - and about things relatively similar to what we talk about among ourselves."
