Here's to the people who weren't abused by their parents, but whose parents sucked anyways. Here's to people whose parents fucked up raising you out of ignorance and not malice. Here's to the kids whose parents didn't know what to do with you so they did nothing at all. Here's to people whose parents are getting better and growing as people but still hurt you. Here's to every mean comment that wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't come from your mom; here's to awkward family dinners because you're all trying to forget;
here's to you, survivor of a thousand 'not as bad as it could have been' hurts. I see you. You aren't alone.

We need to normalize speaking like this. Stating things directly and clearly is the easiest way to communicate without leaving room for misunderstandings. Sometimes putting things in a “nicer” way leads the other person to assume that you agree with them or will tolerate them pushing your boundaries further. It needs to be acceptable to say “no, I don’t like this and I won’t keep listening to it, stop and leave me alone.” It’s only seen as aggressive because manipulative people see disagreement or directness as aggression. You shouldn’t have to cater to people that disrespect your boundaries. Laying down boundaries and firmly keeping them is not disrespectful or mean, it’s healthy. You can be kind without always being nice.
Not even gonna read the rest of this tbh "don't talk to me like that, I don't know you" is a tonally neutral statement and is not inherently disrespectful. Beyond that, you don't owe someone you don't know perfect diplomatic consideration. You don't need to kiss someone's feet to tell them to stop engaging with you in a way that you find uncomfortable. Get a grip

This is deeply comforting to me. It’s not “wait and see”. It’s “not yet.” It will happen. They will have a happy ending, and live in a little cottage in South Downs together 🫶

I genuinely don’t understand why people feel the need to attack someone for an innocent interest when there are so many more people doing terrible things who are worth attacking. Go yell at a transphobe, leave Ryan and his three hundred stamps alone.
"Stop saying 15 year olds with weird interests are cringe, they're 15" this is true however you should also stop saying adults with weird interests are cringe because who gives a shit
#like goddamn#let people have fun#go get a hobby or something#maybe you should talk to someone#or collect stamps#get over your preconceived notions of how the world should work and go experience joy
