utterly fascinating how orv manages to purport the idea of the love being in the trying--the attempt matters just as much if not more than the result--while also being about a guy who is as chronically, wildly allergic to attempting it in ways even MARGINALLY approaching normal as possible. kdj has to sensationalize (to make a sensation, to make a story out of) his own love or it isn't real. something something flooding the trees to water the forest. and at that point, who is the love for? does he love the act of the trying more than the people he tries for? the story more than the audience?
