Haitus Announcement!

Hey everyone. Keldrick and Belbet have an announcement to make. The two of us are experiencing a lot of difficulties in real life right now, with jobs and finances. and so, we must take a break from streaming to put ourselves first. As of right now, this is an indefinite haitus, as we don't know when our circumstances will change. But you are welcome to follow us over on Youtube, where we will occasionally post videos (my coding videos as well as some playthroughs that Keldrick plans on doing occasionally). Hope you all have lovely evenings, and wish us luck!

I picked up Roots of Pacha recently as my continued journey in trying as many farming Sim/cozy type games as I can, (before this was Sun Haven, which is fantastic. I adore the art and the character customization, and the skill points and leveling system!!)

And. Holy shit. Maybe it's because how the community is introduced, and how the community aspect works, but I find myself caring about the collective more in this game than I have in previous games? Granted, still no interest in romance (if that's even a thing in this game) but I like interacting with the different characters, and find myself contributing not just for the currency aspect, but because it actually helps the community unit. I love the art style, and the music, and the prehistoric vibe a lot.

10/10 do recommend for anyone who likes cozy games.

(I do also recommend Sun Haven from a gameplay aspect but apparently there's some shittiness with the game director or something, so apprehensive to recommend with my whole chest.....)

Why You Should Play Roots of Pacha

What is Roots of Pacha?

It's a Stardew Valley Clone, sure

But it's a Stardew Valley Clone that takes place in the Stone Age

In a lot of weird ways, the mechanics and complexities of Stardew make way more sense in this setting? And a bunch of things are improved, like the inventory system and interpersonal interactions

But the best parts of the game are, hands down, the people and the animals

literally within one season I got a pet baby mammoth, it's too cute for words, I'm speechless and overcome and many seasons have passed since I took this screenshot

you can domesticate/bring home tons of different cool animals, including Ibex, Wild Boar, Bison, and Ostriches

You can also ride them!!!!! My current ride is an Ostrich!!! Like omg???

I haven't done an outright count but it's waaaaay more diverse than Stardew by leaps and bounds, honestly its a bit embarrassing on Stardew's part. A nice decent chunk of characters - much more than in Stardew - are POC, and there are way more girls as extra characters than in Stardew. Plus, more children and more complexities of interactions. Also...
