Shout-out to my favorite type of shows, the ones that feature :
Low budget
Questionable storylines
Questionable treatment of certain characters
Unresolved plot-holes
Cheap CGI
Stereotypes
But also :
Amazing main characters and underdeveloped side characters
Storylines that are actually really good / excellent
Wacky humor
Crossovers
Somehow great character arcs coming from characters we've barely seen
Angry and cynical bisexual character that makes punchlines
Lesbian character we should have gotten more of
Great acting that makes you sob
Monster of the week episodes
And an episode where the real monsters are actually not monsters at all
Morally grey characters
Found family
Homoeroticism
So many deaths
Greek tragedies in general
Which leads us to the most important part : doomed yaoi couple that involve :
Very attractive men
An immortal guy wearing a trademark coat
Sassy guy wearing a suit while the other always wears the same type of outfits
Big age gap
One guy who went from god's favorite to god's least favorite
Same guy who has abandonment issues but can't tell others he loves them because self-loathing. He also has brother issues.
Child soldier
Meanwhile the other guy is extremely loyal but doesn't think he deserves the other/sees himself as a tool. He has both daddy issues and a complex relationship with god. Sometimes comparable to an attacking dog.
Important off-screen development
A "womanizer" type of guy whereas the other only had one significant relationship with a woman
Love-triangle with one of the first guy's male exes
A woman named Lisa
A guy who experiences massive guilt and uncertainty after falling from grace and leaving a dangerous group that used to be his family. In addition he suffered several memory wipes from them
Religious symbolism
"I love you. I love all of you" / "I came back for you. All of you"
"I love you." "Don't"
Widower arcs
Love confessions followed by immediate death
Character who's ready to give everything up for the other, puts his faith in him and becomes the shell of himself once he's gone
Straight-bating that makes their relationship uncertain until the very last moments
Actors who are as obsessed/even more obsessed about the characters than the fans
I know, it's a very specific list, but somehow it happened twice. With Supernatural and Torchwood.
All of this to say that you should go watch Supernatural/Torchwood. But who am I kidding. This is the Supernatural website, meaning most people have already seen it. So go watch Torchwood ! (I promise it's great)
#spn#supernatural#destiel#torchwood#janto#today I would like to talk about shows that are both bad and amazing#I swear they have so many things in common that I couldn't put everything#So feel free to add#read every sentence I wrote in my mind with the voice from “Honest trailers”

theo van gogh was the one who suggested that his older brother vincent start seriously painting. as soon as theo was gainfully employed he gave vincent around 15% of his own yearly salary for art supplies, lodging, and food. about 2/3rds of vincent's surviving letters were to theo (including vincent's earliest and last letters), all of which were found stored in theo's desk. theo's child, vincent willem, was born on january 31st, 1890, and vincent was so delighted by his nephew that he painted almond blossoms for him. vincent shot himself half a year later on july 29th, 1890. theo's distress at his brother's death worsened his syphilis symptoms and he died half a year after his brother on january 25th, 1891 (four days before vincent willem's first birthday). theo was reburied next to vincent in auvers-sur-oise at the request of theo's wife johanna.

What's the worst way your OTP could become canon? The one that would make you most go from "aaaww yes" to "holy crap NO WHAT'S HAPPENING WHY".
probably if one of them died right after?? or during?? the canonization?? i’d be a wreck aha
