It was clear that her presence was not something he had been prepared for, something she should have considered before she had even arrived at his location. She didn’t exactly know why she had done this, maybe it was the part of her desperate to see his face again - though she needed to remind herself that he was not her Ollie. She smiled weakly at his question, turning to look away from him. “Earth-Three, though I was looking for somewhere to start anew,” she admitted. “Getting away from painful memories, painful losses.”

They’re dead, their all dead. Kara senses it was real, but it looked and felt so real that it was hard to figure out what actually existed. She hadn’t heard the crack of the door as it snapped open as her mind still reeled over her nightmare. It terrorized her, left her shaken as she truly thought she had failed earth just as she had failed Krypton. She had never wanted Lena to see her this way, she never wanted anyone to see her as distraught as she was. She didn’t have time for fear, for weakness or sadness. A luxury she wasn’t allowed to experience because people, earth, everyone depended upon her to be at her best.

Another voice? It took a minute for her to focus on the face in front of her. Emerald green eyes, Dark hair, her mind pieced each little thing together as she realized it was Lena. She was alive? Her heart was beating so fast in her chest she was sure it was going to beat right out of her ribs and onto the floor. A part of her feared to even reach out and touch her, what if she hurt her? Her face looked right at Lena as her hands gripped her legs so tightly her knuckles were turning with.

“Everyone…everyone was dead. They were dead, I couldn’t do anything.” Her voice finally broke through clearly shaken and finding it difficult to piece together reality from her dream. Her eyes tighten close but just as quickly opened them again out of seeing the distressing sight of her dream. Not even her eyes closed saved her from that nightmare. Her hand shook as she slowly reached out but pulled her hand back quickly questioning her ability to even touch anyone. But she reached up and touched Lena’s hand that was on her face and the confirmation that she wasn’t going to hurt Lena made her lean in closer and wrapped her arms around Lena.

She lived. That meant others were alive, they were all alive. It was a nightmare, that’s all it was. She repeated that in her mind as she found security just holding Lena at the moment. Lena said she wouldn’t let anything hurt her and that second the safest place was the embrace of her friend. A little voice reminded her to tell the DEO about the alien they would have to deal with that invaded dreams, but she currently needed to get her mind about itself. 

For as long as she had known Kara, she had never seen her so scared. She had been so steadfast, so strong. She did not let anything phase her, and she had always been so upbeat and spunky. Seeing how she was crumbling under this broke her heart, seeing her dearest friend huddled up in a corner brought her no joy. The briefest ounce of relief came when she saw recognition within Kara’s eyes, when stunning blues met her gaze. Her thumb brushed soothingly against her cheek, hoping the small action was enough to bring her some sense of grounding.

Lena listened quietly as the source of Kara’s fear was revealed, the news that she had witnessed the death of those around to her seemed to speak volumes. She really was a kind soul, someone who cared. There was no one in this world as sweet as the poor girl before her, and she would not let her suffer anymore. She didn’t deserve this, she didn’t deserve this terror no matter what anyone said, Kara didn’t deserve to be tormented by the death of those around her.

The feeling of the warmth of her skin finally touching the back of her hand caused her to smile, her arms lowering to carefully return the embrace as she finally initiated it. “We’re all okay Kara, we’re all safe,” she reassured her, resting her head against Kara’s. “I was worried something had happened to you when I heard your screams I panicked…I kicked the door in.” She hoped the little bit of information would bring some light to the situation, she was certain she was not someone anyone expected to see kicking in doors. Of course, she would pay for the repair, but for now, she wanted to cheer up her friend.

“How about we get you up off the floor,” she offered as she pulled back only a little. “I can also stay here if you would like, if it makes you feel better.” They could make an evening of it, she was sure she could find a few things to occupy her friend. Comfort food, comfort shows. Kara had been there for her when she had needed her, now it was her turn to return the favour. As Lena pulled back, she kept an arm around Kara. “Come on, I’ll even get whatever food you want.”

Kara truly worried about her sister, knowing that she must be beating herself up just as much as Kara was doing to herself on other occasions. It was a habit they seemed to make up for each other, and Kara had beaten herself up a bit over the fact she couldn’t protect Alex in the situation. She feared what would happen if her heart had been taken, if this other dark Kara, as she called her, would have killed Alex as well. She just wanted to protect Alex as much as Alex protected her.

“Oh, he’s going to have a payday with that one,” Kara chuckled as she looked over at Alex, meeting her gaze at the same time. A part of her was trying to hide her own troubles, the both of them dealing with what had happened. Nearly losing each other when they had gone to the wedding to get away from it all. Kara was starting to think she had the worse luck in this world.

Her lips pushed together as she reached over and took Alex’s hands, looking at her fist and could see the forming light bruises that would most likely fade in a few hours. “We could always use the kryptonite glow, bring me down to your strength. I might get my ass kicked around a few times, but if it made you feel better,” She said softly, looking up at her though realizing how wrong that probably sounded. It wasn’t that she wanted Alex to beat her up, it was more that she wanted to help Alex have a good outlet to release her tension. And it did well for her by means of sparring.

“I can stop by the Pizzaria, they give Supergirl quite a discount since I by several pizzas at once. Anything specific you would like?” Kara said softly, wanting to find a way to bring up her thoughts but just didn’t know how to at the moment. So for now, anything she could do to be around her sister she would do.

He would, though J’onn would probably not be very happy about the inspiration. After all, they all had to work off a budget. The D.E.O was still responsible for the money they were given from the government, and designing dummies that gave you a challenge would hardly be up there on the to-do-list. Still, it brought Alex some sense of amusement, imagining Winn was he was presented with a challenge of a lifetime – at least it was in her opinion.

The smile dropped from her lips when Kara took her hands, her gaze lowered before it flickered away to a far wall. She didn’t want her worrying about her, it wasn’t her place. She was the older sister, she was meant to be looking after her, and yet she had failed at that. The weight bore down upon Alex, she found herself faltering under the pressure. Her expression hardened a little at her suggestion of using kryptonite, her teeth temporarily clenched before she shook her head.

“The offer is greatly apricated Kara, but I don’t think kicking your ass will make me feel any better,” her voice carrying a hint of regret. “Honestly, I would rather be out there kicking some bad guys around.” Not the best way to vent, but it would be someone who deserved it. Someone who deserved to be kicked around, who probably would give her a good reason to fight. Still, the offer was nice. The brunette pulled her sister into a hug, her smile tugged loosely at her lips. As long as she was there she would get over it, she would mend. Emotions shifted, changed to focus on other things that came up. It would be only a matter of time before she moved on.

Stepping back, Alex took to Kara’s next suggestion. “Then let’s leave and just have a girl’s night in. I really just need some quiet time, some normal time,” she said before she considered what she wanted. “Just the normal I think.”
