Jorselen Gabriel was an immigrant from Haiti. His parents moved him and his siblings to the U.S. for better education opportunities and to get them away from the poverty and danger in his homeland. He had struggles with learning the American language and picking up on some of the slang. Joining school it was hard for Jorselen because he encountered bullying with older kids because of his ethnicity and made fun of for his accent. He was also teased for what he wore to school.

How Does the News Media Cover Social Class and Inequality?
Marxism is the world's most significant style of thought and has altered the trajectory of human history. The most significant school of thought in history, marxism has changed the trajectory of human history. Despite the strenuous attempts by the Capitalist elite to bury it, it is more critical than a lever for addressing humanity's pressing problems. Marx demonstrated how capitalism was a stage of social evolution that was in transition and would be replaced by later stages in one of his numerous discoveries. Marx asserted that the working class's historic task was to drive a radical shift toward an exploitative, self-governing society. Marxism is a potent instrument for the working class's self-emancipation, especially when it comes to formulating revolutionary political strategies and tactics that are suited to the unique circumstances of each country's class struggle. Marx saw that people were a part of nature and interacted with it via the work process. Only socialism has the potential to finally reestablish a healthy relationship between society and the environment, as well as between persons and their job.
Max classified society into three categories: power, class, and status. These three phrases were also known as the three components of stratification since persons in the same class enjoy the same lifestyle and have the same number of opportunities for advancement. The Propertied upper class was upper-class persons who owned a large quantity of property and used it to collect rent from tenants. The “Property less white collar workers” were the trained laborers that sat behind the tables in order to earn a decent wage. White-collar workers were mostly from the middle class. The manual working class was referred to as the lower class medium, commonly known as blue-collar occupations. They had to do manual labor and were paid less than the low pay.
One of the sociologists who had the largest impact on society throughout the 20th century was Pierre Bourdieu. Discovering three interconnected conceptual tools that Bourdieu created to analyze the social environment, known as habitus, field, and capital, is important in understanding his views on the framework of social class. Bourdieu stated that although each of our prior experiences is unique, certain structural components of those experiences will be shared by others who belong to the same social class or grouping (e.g. people who share the same gender, ethnicity, sexuality, occupation, nationality etc.).After that, a common habitus—a collection of shared dispositions that assist to identify the social group and set it apart from other social groups—is produced, which functions as a kind of class or group identity. According to Bourdieu, society is divided into a variety of social fields where individuals compete with one another for precious resources.

How are we related to one another?
Black American history and ancestry are deeply embedded in my family. My mother and father, both of whom are Americans of black ethnicity. My aunt Leslie is wed to Uncle Willard, the brother of my dad. Their children are my parallel cousins since they have a boy and a girl. On my dad's side of the family, I don't have any cross-cousins because my dad had a sister named Wanda who never got married. Uncle Rick, the brother of my mother, wed my aunt Tracy. My cross-cousins, who total three children, are raised by them.

What Is the Relationship of Ethnicity to the Nation?
I am descended from Thomas and Richard Wiggins from England who received land grants to establish the state of North Carolina in the 1500s. Wiggins is racially 62% West African and 34% Northwestern European: French, British, and German. Thomas and Richard, had jobs and worked in the shipyard, while embracing nationalism and becoming residents of NC, and raised families that became civilians. They were tobacco farmers who grew corn and crops and sold them at markets in Raleigh North Carolina. My family has lived in America since the 1500s.

Chapter 5 Fieldwork
*Racism
Racism can be explained as “individuals’ thoughts and actions, as well as institutional patterns and policies, that create or reproduce unequal access to power, privilege, resources, and opportunities based on imagined differences among groups”. A poem by Langston Hughes is titled "I, Too." The poem, which was first released in 1926 at the peak of the Harlem Renaissance, depicts racism in America as it is perceived by a black man. In the poem, white folks figuratively and literally refuse the narrator a place at the dinner table. The speaker contends that he is as much a citizen of America as are white people, and that the rest of the nation will soon be compelled to recognize the power and beauty of black people.
*Phenotype
Earwax type, height, blood type, eye color, freckles, and hair color are phenotypic examples in humans. A phenotype is more than simply a physical characteristic. A phenotype may also include a person's behavior. refers to the manner in which an organism's genes are expressed in its physical makeup (visible and invisible), as a result of the interplay between its genotype and environmental elements including nourishment, illness, and stress. People tend to make assumptions about other people's races based on phenotypical characteristics. One could conclude someone is quicker, stronger, safe or harmful, better at mathematics, more artistic, or a better lover just on a short glimpse. Then there are stereotypes like "white males can't jump" or "asians are better at math," among others.
*Jim Crow laws
youtube
Jim crow laws in the South imposed legal distinctions between whites and blacks in terms of access to public amenities including transportation, restrooms, and drinking fountains as well as housing, education, voting rights, and property ownership. In essence, the movie shows how southern whites started to worry about black politicians trying to integrate the south in the 1890s. The concept of living in a society where African Americans may function as equals was exceedingly unpopular with white people. In essence, the movie shows how southern whites started to worry about black politicians trying to integrate the south in the 1890s. The concept of living in a society where African Americans may function as equals was exceedingly unpopular with white people. The Jim Crow laws, originally named from a song and dance that cruelly tormented poor Africans and was played by whites in blackface, were created by lawmakers to keep blacks segregated and powerless.
*Microaggressions
Microaggressions are described as ordinary, relatively subtle, purposeful — and frequently unintended — encounters or acts that reflect a prejudice toward historically oppressed groups. Microaggressions include remarks made about an Asian American's English proficiency that imply the Asian American was not born in the country. Another instance would be to assume that a black guy is violent or dangerous. Another instance is assuming that a black individual is dangerous or aggressive. Being followed around in stores or going on an elevator and having others step aside and grab their bags or wallets is a regular occurrence among black guys. People frequently do not recognize they are engaging in such behavior. In fact, if you stopped them and said, 'Why did you just move?' Most will reject it since they are unaware that their actions reveal their racial prejudices.

*Miscegenation
Miscegenation is the interbreeding/marriage of two people of different races. The poem basically tells us that Mississippi had no miscegenation, and her married parents were a mixed couple of her black mother and white father. Mississippi also had another law that you couldn't leave to go to a state where miscegenation was aloud and then comeback.
*White supremacy
youtube
The concept that white people are a better race and so should control society, usually to the exclusion or disadvantage of other racial and ethnic groups, particularly black or Jewish people. When white culture is valued more than other cultures, white supremacy exists. When white people have a disproportionate amount of power and prestige as a result of the societal value put on their skin color. White supremacy can be found in healthcare, education, employment, immigration, food access, and other areas. Statistics show that white individuals receive milder punishments than black people.

List of Items in my room:
After writing down all the items in my rooms, I feel like a normal person. I think I have all basic regular needs of a college student plus a little more. I also noticed that I got most of my belongings for average or below price in comparison to things being at higher price when they first come out. I don’t have much of a snack collection because I usually just eat meals in the dining hall. Most used item it probably my cell phone because it’s with me all day .

Almost immediately after paper money was introduced, Massachusetts in the late 1600s saw the invention of the wallet. One of the world's oldest instances of a wallet discovered belonged to Otzi the Iceman, and it was a highly uncommon and intriguing ancient find around 3,300 BC. China is where most wallets are made, Vietnam manufactures wallets to. The wallet had no real manufacturer it was mainly a trend to put important things in a wallet as far back as ever. Metal coins were once carried around in modest purses. A significant portion of our daily life involves wallets. Your wallet goes in your pocket and you can carry cash, cards, and other essential info. Wallets can be made of leather or cloth. The original wallets contained a tiny pocket for storing identity cards and were often made of cow or horse leather. Although leather is still the most popular material for wallets today, the usage of other materials like metal and elastic is increasingly losing its attraction. In order to make storing money easier, the bifold style, which was the first modern currency holder, was created. The word "kibisis" from Ancient Greek, which was used to denote the bag carried by the god Hermes, is where the wallet originated from. Wallet has historically replaced kibisis. In the middle of the 17th century, wallets started to seem more recognizable. Wallets are used to carry everyday necessities or to express a stylish lifestyle. Today's trend is for ultra-slim wallets made of lovely, supple leather in a variety of colors and synthetic, waterproof materials. Wallets are practical for protecting cash, credit cards, travel papers, and other valuables against theft, damage, and the environment. The ancient Greeks stayedoccupied and had access to a wide variety of jobs, hobbies, and entertainments to make daily life interesting. The Greeks were kept out of the house by going to the marketplaces of the agora, serving on juries, attending athletic events, or witnessing the newest performance. Additionally, there can be processions, drinking events, and religious rites to observe.
