Hey there, I'm Lu - an adoptee from the UK. I like knitting and art (among other things), and my pronouns are they/them :) Halfway through an autism diagnosis where the doc said it's 'almost definite' I have it xD

Study because it makes you smarter. Every time you dive into a new topic, you're not just memorizing facts; you're building a sharper, more agile mind. The breadth of your knowledge will never be a hindrance; it will only ever propel you further in life.
Study because it opens doors. Knowledge is your ticket to new opportunities. Whether it's landing your dream job, travelling the world, or just being able to hold your own in any conversation, the more you know, the further you can go.
Study because it builds discipline. Setting aside time to study teaches you valuable skills like time management and self-discipline. These habits will serve you well in all areas of life, long after you’ve closed the textbooks.
Study because you want to improve yourself. Self-improvement isn't just about hitting the gym or eating right. It's about feeding your mind and growing as a person. Each study session is a step towards a better, more informed you.
Study because it’s a privilege. Not everyone has the opportunity to learn. Embrace the privilege of education and make the most of it. Honor those who fought for the right to study by making the most of your own education.

TIL that the reason lead levels in children’s blood have dropped 85% in the past thirty years is because of an unknown scientist who fought car companies to end leaded gasoline. He also removed it from paint, suggested its removal from pipes, and campaigned for the removal of lead solder from cans.

Ooo fun! Is there any connections between Flatland and these worlds? I'm just imagining the chromatist Flatlanders being inspired by the Chromava citizens in this headcanon! Also, do the Noiset people interfere with upper class Flatlanders and their sight recognition? I bet there'd be tensions there if they did
[ID: A yellow background image, on top of it are various shapes. Starting with a green shape labelled numberland to the leftmost of it. above it is a larger shape thats labeled Chromava, below Numberland is another shape labeled Alphabetia thats dark red. To the right of Chromava is a small shape that sort of looks like a puzzle piece labeled Puzzos which is blue. Underneath that and to the right of Numberland is a gray circle, written underneath it is Noiset and to the right of both Puzzos and Noiset is a shape thats sort of like three petals in shape, its dark pink and labeled Petalland END ID]
Not a lot of this is gonna factor into Numberland beyond Chromava and Alphabetia in mention but I just thought i'd make a worldmap.
Chromava A land of blobby color shapes
Numberland Land of numbers
Alphabetia Land of letters
Puzzos Land of shapes that are like puzzle pieces, they marry and breed by locking themselves together.
Petalland is a land of flower shapes.
Noiset an island of like gas or fog beings
There is immigration between them but as shown they arent exactly close in between them is mostly empty land. Numberlandians don't even know of Noiset, Puzzos or Petalland.
Flatland is a different world.
Again this is just worldbuilding but like stuff like this helps me keep in perspective where things are in relation to each other and perhaps something to expand upon down the line.

Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

a bottom-tier autistic experience is being told throughout your entire childhood that you are just an overthinker when it comes to social situations and later finding out that your friends did, in fact, hate being around you and tried to communicate that through weird little hints

Pretty sure if my autistic ass saw an Elder God, it'd be the shiny golden light or the angelic chorus or the knowledge beamed straight into my brain that overwhelmed me long before I go mad from witnessing them. Maybe we all have the instinctual urge that we'd get out unscathed because some part of us deep down knows we wouldn't get the opportunity to witness them in the first place cus we noped out after the flashy light show.
Maybe autistic folk have sensory stuff because otherwise we'd be too powerful? I mean, staring in the face of a God is a power move. I'd introduce them to Terraria.
Being autistic is weird because I think I'd be entirely entirely immune to the maddening effects of witnessing an Elder God but learning that barnacles are arthropods rather than molluscs nearly gave me an existential crisis
