How to Delete your NaNoWriMo Account
NaNo has done dubious things over the years that prompted me to stop using it, but this most recent dubious thing has tilted me from "not using it" to "deleting it." If you're like me, here's what to do:
Log in to your NaNo account
Go to settings
Select "delete account"
Go to the e-mail account associated with your NaNo account, find the e-mail they've sent, and click the "delete account" button in that e-mail
You're done
It's incredibly easy, and I'm hoping that if a lot of us delete - especially people like me, with long-time accounts who have won NaNo repeatedly, who have also supported them monetarily in the past - then perhaps they'll get some kind of message about what a shit idea this LLM stuff is.
They probably won't. But. I'm an optimist.

Second drafts are worth the effort
You rewrite stories because they’re good and because you care about them, not because they’re inherently flawed.
A second draft is not admitting your first was bad. Only that it’s worth the time and effort to keep working on.

Eh he nope. I think I burnt myself out and I think my new meds are making me too tired to deal with anything so I'm cancelling this bc it isn't within my realm of possibility right now
I have written almost nothing since Nanowrimo last year, a few short fanfics that I had a bunch of fun with but that's it. I wanna get back in the swing of things so for the month of September I'm going to try to write 1000 words a day, focussing more on fanfiction than original fiction bc I have far too many wips.
I'm not really sure what I'll call this, SeptWriMo? SeptPENber? Sleptember? EmberWrites? Ember Island Challenge? Idk I'll come up with something. Feel free to do this too if you want, I'm just doing this to keep myself accountable.

Instead of doing NanoWriMo I will be doing something where I try to aim for writing an actual average of 400 words a day for the month of November in memory of Terry Pratchett, who as far as I know never thought telling a computer to write a book for you is a good way to hone your skills as a writer.

Some fanfictions have left a more profound impression on me than published literature, and I want to encourage every fic writer: Write and write from the heart. Don't let fear stop you, because your impact is bigger than you think💜

also there's no one stopping you from loving a badly written woman. in fact sometimes a badly written woman will crawl inside your brain and live there forever.

original writers and artists are the strongest creators on any fandom-oriented website. don't get discouraged. you gotta get so, so deranged about your projects. you gotta make that energy INFECTIOUS. YOUR AUDIENCE WILL FIND YOU.
