Strawberry Fields

You mindlessly looked through the tv guide as the shower water continued to thrum on. It was last weeks of course. A few pages had been ripped out, most likely by Randy, so he could remember when whatever show he wanted to watch was on.

The falling water came to a stop, and you heard the rusty shower rings scratch against the old metal pool. Muffled grunting followed for a few minutes before what sounded like the shitty hairdryer roaring on.

"Ah! Hot!"

You heard a crash before the hairdryer was turned off. You bit back a grin as you tried not to roll your eyes. Suddenly, a figure came out from the bathroom in his boxers and t shirt.

"Did you try and dry your bits with the hair dryer again?" You asked. He gave a sheepish smile towards you.

"Yeah, but only cause I know you don't like cuddlin when I'm still wet! And Randy will be back in the morning! We only have so much time!" He defended himself as he quickly got into bed beside you.

"You're so thoughtful." You chuckled. "But you know that thing gets really hot all of a sudden!" You turned towards him and brought his face closer before kissing him. Your hands trailed down to the hem of his t shirt. "May I?" Earl eagerly nodded before putting his arms up so you could slide the shirt off. You threw it onto the end of the bed before you both cozied up together and laid back.

"So what do you want to watch tonight?" Earl asked as you laid back against his chest.

"Doesn't matter to me." You buried your face in his chest a little as you lazily answered. His chest hair filling your senses with...strawberry? You furrowed your brow before looking up at him. "Did you... shampoo your chest hair?" You gave him a confused look.

"And conditioned. The bottle said 'Strawberry Fields'. I figured it makes my head hair soft and smell nice, and I know how sometimes your face gets itchy after sleeping on my chest, so I thought I'd try it." He looked down at you as he continued fiddling with the tv remote. "Did it work?"

Frankly, you wouldn't be able to tell at least until morning, but that sweet, loving, hopeful glint in his eye told you that he put thought into the odd gesture. So you exaggeratedly brushed your face against the hair and snuggled up to him.

"Oh, definitely. Way softer than usual." You yawned against him. That seemed to satisfy the man as he landed on a TV channel and settled in more. "Thank you, Earl."

"Anything for my girl."

Let's just say you dreamt of some really weird yet comforting strawberry fields that night.
