I would never trust the current DC writers with a story concept like this, but god I would love either a one shot or a mini series about Stephanie and her daughter.

With all the timeline nonsense I don't even know if Steph having a child is still in her canon, but I would love a story just exploring the aftermath.

Steph willingly gave up her daughter so she wouldn't be dragged into the life she had chosen to live by becoming a vigilante (and probably for the best considering not even a year later she was killed during War Games) But it does leave you wondering how much of the adoption process was Steph actually involved in.

Gotham is notoriously known for its poor foster care system. Would She willingly put her daughter into that system or would she have her daughter sent out of Gotham all together? Does she know who adopted her, or does she not want any connection at all?

Knowing the kind of people the Bats are, I don't think they would let Stephanie's' daughter be left to the wolves for lack of better terms, they probably would have vetted whoever did end up adopting her daughter, with or without Stephanie's knowledge because the piece of mind would do them all wonders. I like to think the daughter was adopted by a family outside of Gotham, away from all the danger of the city and the life Stephanie leads.

In the in universe timeline it's been years since Steph gave up her daughter. Do you think that Steph is curious about where she ended up? What her life is like currently? She has the means and skills to find her, maybe she wouldn't approach her daughter, but she could see her, run into her in public, just see what her life is like.

Maybe she could contact the parents about arranging a meeting, or just getting updates on her life. Maybe she can give the parents a letter for her daughter to get if she ever asks about being adopted or about her birth mother.

Or maybe Steph knows that it would be for the best to have their lives entirely separated. That it would be better for the two worlds to never intersect beyond the moment she was born. With the line of work they live in, it does matter how disconnected the connection is, there is always a risk of being linked to a vigilante. That it would be for the best that they never met.
