Feels corny to say but I'm very sad to be back in the states. And not even because I miss being on vacation or being goo-goo-eyed about the pretty lights or the anime n shit, I just miss being in a place where things FUNCTIONED. I miss being somewhere where people put a ounce of thought into making the things around them work properly
Immediately after exiting the airport it was just a gauntlet of stupidity and selfishness all the way back home. It's such a defeating feeling to be back where not a single thing feels organized in the slightest, and ppl have the balls to say it's the premium way of life

Sony Style Store in the Sony Center complex - Berlin, Germany (2000)
"Located right in the heart of Berlin - the new Sony Style Store is the first flagship store in Europe to be inaugurated after the ones in New York, San Francisco and Sydney. Simple backlit glass walls with large bubbles fashioned out of Plexiglas spheres and cubes of frosted glass are the dominant element of the interior, serving to display the products and graphics throughout the premises. Colourful gel cushions just beg to be touched. On the first upper level the theme is cool, futuristic and light. Beetle-like illuminated objects made of translucent Plexiglas and aluminium are used to display the audio products. Video cameras at the window provide a panned view of the interior. The home entertainment area on the second upper level is clearly organised, pared down and elegant. Inviting, liveable arrangements with comfortable armchairs, lamps and hi-fi systems and a high-end studio incorporate the essence of a home movie theatre. "Playtime" is the motto of the uppermost level.
In contrast with most of the games, the space is bright, futuristic and abstract. The relaxed atmosphere invites visitors to play and touch the Playstations. Specially designed title presenters on the walls show current Sony music that can be listened to on headphones or watched in the form of a video or a DVD on a monitor which is mounted above head height. A centrally located round counter that is four metres in diameter serves as an information centre and, during events, it constitutes a major focus when it is used as a bar."

Blob Wall by Greg Lynn (2005—2009) “BLOB WALL© is a collaboration between Greg Lynn and PANELITE. It is an innovative redefinition of architecture’s most basic building unit, the brick; in lightweight, plastic, colorful, modular elements custom shaped using the latest CNC technology. BLOB WALL© is a free-standing, indoor/outdoor wall system built of a low-density, recyclable, impact-resistant polymer. The blob unit, or “brick,” is a tri-lobed hollow shape that is mass produced through rotational molding. Each wall is assembled from individually robotically cut hollow bricks that interlock with exacting precision. In addition to stock designs, custom configurations are available for specific shapes, sizes, room configurations, partitions and color schemes. The Blob Wall © is a contemporary wall system that recovers the voluptuous shapes, chiaroscuro and grotto like textures of baroque and renaissance architecture in pixilated gradients of vivid color. The stock designs are: “S”, “L”, “I” and “U” shaped walls as well as a Dome and Tree House. There are six stock color schemes each made up of a gradient of 7 different brick colors. In addition to any one of the six standard designs and six color schemes, custom wall configurations and color combinations are available for a variety of residential and commercial applications.“
