so when my sister was three she forgot the word “booger.” We didn’t really use the word “snot.”

but this really very articulate three year old did need a word for this phenomenon, which at the time she was experiencing in abundance. Lacking vocabulary, she was resourceful.

so this three year old with these perfect blonde curls and big brown eyes, in her satin strawberry pajamas, comes into the living room and announces through a horrible, stuffy, goopy nose/face:

“daaaaddy? I made…………….snoke.”

succinct. Clear. Yeah you sure did, baby. That is definitely a very descriptive word. Very creative.

obviously we used this word for the next fifteen years. It’s a great word. Very descriptive. Shortly after this incident she described a bloody nose as “strawberry snoke” and she was correct.

fifteen years pass.

and Star Wars XI: The Rise of Skywalker premiers in theatres. Mom and I went. (We love Star Wars. Our family is built on Star Wars. We were going to watch it no matter what.)

you’ve all scene it. You know that the movie was already a lost cause long before this happened. But. It just. It tipped over the edge.

when the very first line you hear palpatine (returned) say. Is:

mom and I lost it in the theatre. I’m not sure she’s been to a Star Wars premiere since then.

so I went to the counseling center at my school to set up an appointment etc etc and I know they have a therapy dog there and I was like “where’s the dog?” and the receptionist was like ‘oh I’m sorry, she’s in a meeting right now’ and I look over at the other room and there is a fucking dog sitting in a chair at a long table sitting next to all these people in business suits and I felt like I was in a dream
