Ex-Nazi scientist Dr. Strangelove was enlisted by the Eisenhower administration due to his work on the German V2 rockets. The Presedent recognised its importance for both militery and space travel and while some were busy readying their spaceships for inter-planitery travel, others were digging underground.
Jackie Kennedy, pictured one year after her husband (and final presedent of what was once the United States of America) John F Kennedy's assassination. After suffering a complete mental collapse in the weeks and months following, she now wanders the bunker in the same pink dress, still stained with blood.

What do they want to be when they grow up? What will they become? The interior is around 15% of the hive. 3 stairwells, 4 bunkers. What did Mankind do to end up with this life?

To make the world new, it must me made strange.
About the work-
On the first day of The Lockdown, I had a strange kind of excitement to see just how much could change in one single day. I was struck with just how silent the world had become. It looked as if the buildings were not intended for people anymore, there were no people, the world had become alien, a world by us, for us, without us.
I was reminded by this strange new world of the Surrealist paintings of de Chirico. I wanted to pay tribute to his compositions and include buildings from Derby in their most minimal form.
About me-
I have returned to art recently after volunteering at Kunst Gallery Belper (deceased) I have a special interest in architecture and model making which is an area I will be pursuing at university.
