The Law of Detachment
I say it all the time in my tarot readings: "When you're wishing for something from a place of desperation, the Universe won't grant it."
When you think you can't live without a partner, you'll never find the right one. Only shitty ones.
When you think you'll never be happy until you're rich, you'll never find happiness. And you'll never actually be rich.
Does that mean you have to stop wanting something to get it? Absolutely not.
It's called the Law of Detachment: Chase your dream and it runs away. Trust in your dream and it comes true.
It doesn't mean pretending you don't want love or wealth. It just means wanting something out of joy, not out of fear.
It's actually really simple:
Don't think about how pathetic it is to be the last among your friends to get married. Think about how great it is to be married to someone who adores and appreciates you.
Don't think about how much of a disappointment you are for being broke. Think about how awesome it is to have everything you've always dreamed of.
Fear = Bad. Joy = Good. Easy.
But why does the Universe care so much whether you're desperate or hopeful for something? A wish is a wish! Just fucking grant it, right?
Well, if my elders are to be believed, along with countless authors on manifestation, and even the oldest of religions... it's because you are an immortal being having a human experience.
That means you're a soul. And you entered this world without memories of how powerful you actually are. Because that's the plan. Enter the game, enjoy the adventure, then wake up wiser & better, before you do it all over again.
So when you're in the game and you're acting helpless — throwing tantrums, playing the victim, feeling sorry for yourself — the game master, also called the Universe, gives you the chance to remember your power. It does this through challenges, pain, loss. Hence the phrase, "The Lord is testing me."
But when you're in the game and you're behaving like you're happy to be there, and you're grateful for the chance to play, and you're seizing every opportunity to score... that's when the game master gives you all the weapons you need to keep winning. That's where love, wealth, health and joy come to you easily — when you're acting like you know your true power.
I said "really simple" but of course all of it is easier said than done. But if you can wrap your head around it, that's really all there is to it. 🤷‍♀️
As for me, my only aim with Servant of the Fates is to offer comfort when the game is hard, reassurance when the game is uncertain, and the encouragement to step into your power when the game is starting to get exciting. Good luck!

Crafting a Spell is Just like Cooking
This was a revelation that hit me recently, and I wanted to share it.
When you first start cooking you are not going to create gourmet food right off the bat. You might start with simple foods and will definitely be following a recipe.
Mistakes will be made, food will be burnt, and you might even confuse baking powder for baking soda. I sure did.
But as you get more experience you will learn what flavors go well together, how much spice is too much or too little and start questioning recipes. You might even start creating recipes of your own or growing your own ingredients!
This, to me, is exactly like spell crafting. We all start off recreating spells from other witches' and as we learn we start understanding what does and doesn't work for us until we start creating our own spells.
Don't let someone belittle you for having to look up a spell. We all start somewhere and it is perfectly fine because you can grow and learn from it.

Celebrating Samhain
Tumblr media
Samhain, pronounced "SAH-win", is the eighth Sabbat and final spoke on the Wheel of the Year. With ancient Celtic origins, Samhain was one of the four fire festivals, and falls at the halfway point between the Autumn Equinox ans Winter Solstice. Opposing Beltane on the Wheel, Samhain also similarly features a 'thinning of the Veil', a time when the barrier between our world and that of spirits and other magickal entities is weakened and easier to cross. While Beltane famously is a strong time to interact with the Fae due to the Veil thinning, Samhain is most known for interactions with spiritual entities, the dead, and ancestors.
Samhain is also known as the third and final Harvest Festival (the first being Lughnasadh, and the second Mabon). The frost is coming, and most of the produce has been collected from the fields and stored away. As people prepared for oncoming harsh weather and lack of food/resources, they had to cut back on everything that wasn't crucial to their survival. Thus, this festival was the time of the animal harvest. All creatures who could not be fed through the harsh Winter were harvested during this time, and celebrated for their sacrifice.
Other names for Samhain and similar celebrations include:
• Halloween
• All Hallow's Eve
• The Witch's New Year
• The Third/Final Harvest
• Calan Gaeaf, "The First Day Of Winter"
• Oiche Shamnhna
• All Soul's Day
• All Saint's Day
• Devil's Night

Common Samhain Traditions
• The Dumb Supper is when a meal is hosted and consumed by the living, but the dead and spirits are invited to participate and given seats and places at the table as a sign of respect. Often the windows are all open during a Dumb Supper to invite the spirits into a home. Sometimes specific spirits or ancestors are invited or the invitation is simply left open to any spirits that wish to attend. The living attendants traditionally eat in silence to honor the spirits and hear their messages.
• Carving Jack-O-Lanterns originally came from the myth of "Stringy Jack", which is an Irish folktale about a man who tricked the Devil and now has to wander the world with a lit piece of coal protected inside a carved turnip. This evolved into people carving their own turnips and potatoes and placing them in windows or doorways to scare away Stringy Jack and other tricky or potentially harmful spirits. Once Irish immigrants came to America, the tradition was continued with pumpkins.
• Trick-Or-Treating is also derived from old Samhain traditions. The Celts believed that by dressing up they were disguising themselves from negative spirits who wandered the Earth on Samhain. In the Middle-Ages, "guising" was when children or impoverished people would dress in costumes and go door-to-door begging for food in exchange for songs or prayers. This practice was known as "souling" and the participants called "soulers". In Ireland, the practice of "mumming" involved dressing up in costumes and going door-to-door to sing in exchange for tasty cakes and baked goods.

This is your friendly reminder that herbs aren't inherently safe.
Natural doesn't mean Safe.
Lightning is natural. Opium, therefore heroin and opiate drugs are derived from poppies. Cinnamon oil will burn your skin. Lilies are toxic to cats and will cause organ failure. Activated charcoal will neutralize your prescription medications and literally anything else in your system. St. John's Wort will destroy your serotonin production and mess with your happiness threshold if it DOESNT KILL YOU FIRST.
So anyway.
Do some damn good research every time you go to eat, breathe, bring around your pets, bathe in, or smoke something. Be safe please.

October is a time of deep spiritual connection, transformation, and preparation for the darker months ahead. For witches, this month holds powerful energy as the veil between worlds becomes thinner, allowing for a deeper connection with spirits and their energies. During this time, we prepare for the colder season, readying ourselves for winter. The vibrations throughout the month are strong, making it the perfect time to practice our magic and align ourselves with the stillness of the approaching winter season.

The Morrigan, often described as a goddess of war, begins the ritual as an old woman but is restored to youth and beauty through their union.)

How people can mistakenly think or just subconsciously feel food works: there are “unhealthy” foods like pizza or fried chicken and “healthy” foods like fruit salad or steamed vegetables. Every time you eat an “unhealthy” food you’ve harmed yourself in some way.
How food actually works: foods contain carbs, proteins, fats, sugars, vitamins, minerals, fiber and/or other nutrients. Your body needs and uses all of them but it would like to have a little of everything every day. If you ate pizza or fried chicken for lunch then that’s probably your fat and protein for the day with extra that your body will make use of in time, so it’s a good idea to make your next meal something different like that fruit salad or steamed veggies. You can have that fatty lunch every single day if you just maintain balance and stay active enough to actually use what you’re stocking up on because foods aren’t “good or bad;” they just either fit into the rest of your diet and lifestyle or they don’t.

Macha, Badb, Nemain… When I call on Her, I call on Morrigan. She chooses what side I need guidance from.
Does anyone else who works with Na Morrígna actually work with more than three of the "potential members" of the Goddess trio listed in lore?
I was called to Morrígan, Badb, and Nemain despite the three names not being listed together in the known triad combinations, probably in part due to lore inconsistency over whether Badb and Nemain are even distinct entities. Yet, I still feel they are distinct Goddesses since they've always appeared to me as such. I also ended up honoring Macha of my own accord as well, making the trio less of a trio and more of a quadrant.
It hasn't caused any issues, but I'm curious about other people's experiences since most people I see usually only work with three of the sisters and either consider the other names to be sisters outside the trio, a product of translation confusion / regional variants, or just another aspect one of the three.
