The thing about happiness is subjective.
I realized that what makes me happy might make other people feel dejected. That what I consider as joy could insult humans who truly comprehend this life; may it not be completely, but they’ve seen many things and learned many lessons. Climbed the tallest mountains and trekked the longest roads. Jumped from the highest cliffs and fell right through the deepest oceans. And survived. While I, oh I with an unbroken soul and virgin mind with a body who never knew pain, indulge in things that are passing. Things that the only adjective I could use are “awesome” and “cool”. Things that wouldn’t open not only my eyes but my mind. Things that makes us human. The words I speak are lame for I do not know anything, but I would want to. There is actually no such thing as happiness, it is only the state where grief is not on its highest peak. When sadness doesn’t swallow us whole. When melancholy doesn’t envelop us with all its completeness. When misery is sleeping. But then it’s only a matter of time, for that state does not endure. We are born not in bliss for we live in sadness. Happiness is what we make, it is not who we are.
