A Study in Subtlety

Several things struck me when I saw this sequence of screen caps from SPN 3X11 “Mystery Spot”.

1. Kim Manners (the director for this episode) was without a doubt a genius. Note the subtle use of lighting and how it helps to color the overall mood in each scene. 2. Jared Padalecki is SO good at subtle acting. You can literally see his progression from sassy puppy, to worried puppy, to sad puppy, to kicked puppy, to finally beaten and abused puppy who’s starring in an ASPCA commercial. 3. My heart broke in 5 simple pictures.
