ITZY, What's Next To Come?

Itzy, 5 member girl group sensation under JYPe. The world changed on February 12, 2019. As it did in 2020, even in 2021. From Ryujin's iconic shoulder move which set the internet on fire, stoking the flames of success under their feet.

However, 2022 rolled around and seemed to permanently alter their trajectory. Whether at the hands of their company, the public's choice, or truly poor timing. What in the world happened?

From my perspective, the company decided to focus it's efforts on their other talents. It would be remiss to say that ITZY had gone broke during the "Checkmate" era either, their numbers don't lie. But arguably, there was a drop. Also, there is a difference between the efforts invested in each talent at JYPe. Look at how much music ITZY has, compared to their labelmates Straykids who debuted the year before them.

I digress, instead of debating and contemplating the topic from top to bottom, allow me to invest energy and read for the situation. We saw TWICE renew, Straykids renewed in advance with JYPe. Will ITZY do the same?

Let's begin with posing the question to each individual's energy.

Does Lia want to renew?: Fool, World, maybe to likely yes. It seems like her gut feeling leans toward yes, but she does wonder if continuing is the right choice.

Does Ryujin want to renew?: 5oC, likely not. It feels more like DEEPLY hesitating/anxiety. Wanting to try again but not wanting to "fail" again.

Does Chaeryeong want to renew?: HP, AoS, maybe to likely yes. It seems like she has had someone in her ear making her feel conflicted.

Does Yeji want to renew?: KnoW, likely yes.

Does Yuna want to renew?: 4oS, likely not. It seems like she remembers bad memories through out this current stretch of the career.

Are the members willing to remain together as a group even if not all under JYPe?: 2oC, likely yes.

Do some members want to leave JYPe and join another company?: 9oS, likely not.

Ultimately, will ITZY stay together JYPe?: 2oS, likely not. It's looking quite doubtful right now.

If they do, how will their contracts change?: 8oW, AoS, World.

It seems like they would like to have more control on the decisions made for them. They would like to try doing more, maybe collaborations, traveling long distance. Maybe this means collaborating with foreign artists, world tours. It seems like they would just want more stake in what happens, feeling more in control could make them feel less worried about where things are going.

If Ryujin were to leave, would she want to remain in entertainment?: 2oS, Empress, maybe to likely yes. It seems like she doesn't feel like she's good enough, but she does have something to offer anyway.

If Yuna were to leave, would she want to remain in entertainment?: Star, likely yes. It seems like she already has an idea of where or what she could do to excel. Like she might have realized or felt like her place in the world was different than where she is right now.

Y'all gone stop saying I never read for skz! It's just when yall don't ask for them 😭. Anyway.

Any truly unique career experiences before the year ends?: Strength, likely yes. Could be making history it seems, something that he was brave enough to put out or participate in that as "never been done before" in a sense.

Another comeback before the year ends?: Hierophant, 4oS, likely not? This could be due to literal exhaustion. This may even mean that maybe Chan specifically ends up having to sit out at some point this year.

Any full solo music from Chan before the year ends?: 8oC, likely not. It seems like Chan could be VERY burnt out already if not coming soon.

July-August: QoC, KnoP, 9oC, 10oP rev

September-December: 2oS, 9oS, 9oW, 6oC

Being VERY honest, his mental health is very bad right now and might follow him through to the end of the year. It seems like he's just dealing with a lot of sadness, tiredness, and more. A lot of it comes from the lack of care for his physical condition. He would do slightly better if he was eating well, sleeping well, had a more forgiving schedule. He could be genuinely grieving something, not necessarily a person. He could be dealing with a lot of visions from his past that are haunting him.

I wonder if he has the desire to be near his hometown and family. It could just be because it's associated with relaxing in his mind since that's when he usually gets the chance to visit. But it seems like he's going to continue to do his job very well, but he is so fucking tired. He doesn't know where he see's his future going. I feel like he might regret not negotiating more harshly on his contract renewal, as if that could have prevented some of the strain on him.

From now to the end of the year, he's going to really be fighting to keep his head above water. I also feel a small part of his crisis could be coming from a love situation he's dealing with. He may genuinely feel like it's the end of the world now that he may have feelings for someone right now. Like a terror that somehow it will come back around and take everything from him.

He feels almost disillusioned like he realized he doesn't know what he wants to do with himself, etc. It just feels like a crisis, maybe induced by aging or having the time to really think about it.

As for his career in particular, I don't know if I see anything large or terribly special. But this could be overshadowed by his internal crisis, so don't discount it just yet.

Will Blackpink release more tour dates & tour locations after the first round?: Temp, likely yes. They are currently learning from what's happening right now and will make any necessary changes.

Can we anticipate any more new music from them before the year ends (not including what's about to be released)?: 8oC, likely not. It seems like after what is planned has been released, that's it for the year.

Any sub unit music?: KoS, likely yes?

Any NEW solos?: 10oC rev, likely not. There might have been one girl who asked but the plans fell through.

Can we expect any group content outside of performing?: 2oS, likely not. It feels unlikely, but it doesn't feel guaranteed. Like at the last minute something could be randomly put together.

What are their collective thoughts and feelings around how things were prepared?: 7oW, PoP, 6oW, 8oP.

It seems each girl has a lot of her own unique thoughts about it. There could have been many conflicts of interest, not the kind that would effect their personal relationships, but the kind that relates to how things were being managed. It seems like they were all collectively reminded of old times and didn't feel terribly surprised at what could have been the same planning systems used before. They are doing a lot of learning for their personal brands and had hope that things would as least be marginally well. After this, someone could be planning to or waiting to see when she can launch her own solo affairs. Namely her own concerts, this could be Lisa. They feel like unfortunately also, it's gone poorer so far than expected. But have hopes for improvement as they continue touring.

After the tour is over, will they go their separate ways again?: 10oC rev, likely not?

Has YG worked out a group deal with them?: World, likely yes. It seems like it could be something as small as holding the rights to group publishing or branding. So no matter what, if they promote as a group, it has to be through YG.

Comeback before the year ends?: 6oC, likely yes. He is deathly nervous about it btw.

When can we expect it?: 5oC, 6oC, it seems like a water sign season. If we don't land in Cancer season, we could follow out to Scorpio Season. It seems like it was postponed, it was supposed to come during June or May. But it seems still unstable. It could be pushed to fall/Libra season.

Its looking like he's going to be busy working. But he might not feel satisfied with what's going on. I feel like this is related to when he was promised to release or just do some solo content. It seems like he willed himself to be ready and then they continued to postpone and reschedule it. But it's going to be resolved since it SEEMS to be coming soon.

It seems like to the end of the year, it's smooth sailing with work. Emotionally though, he is very tired and beginning to be fed up. He needs to watch out for his mental health, in particular resentment for his career situation. He's not going to give in by quitting, but it's beginning to have an impact on his physical well being. He needs to beware, energetically it feels like his susceptibility to developing a chronic or longer term issue is higher at this time.

He has the ability to communicate his needs now rather than let it fester, but I believe he might not do so. He feels like he must be grateful and it's just beyond his control. Like it's his responsibility to just endure.
