Blog post ideas
One blog post idea I had is what comic book characters are successful (outside their superhero identities). This could be a simple list, or give the characters backstories, or even attainable goals to follow from these people (e.g. Ironman/Tony Stark made his fortunes through a tech company. You too can do this!). I got this idea from Marvel Entertainment’s LinkedIn; they had a post about an article that talked about marketing superheroes to the public.
Another post I could do would be what movie-related companies are hiring or what positions they’re looking for (e.g. Sony Pictures is looking to hire. Marvel Entertainment is looking for graphic designers.). I got this idea from just using LinkedIn to go and find companies related to my beat.

Twitter List
Tumblr media
I chose these Twitters to follow because I wanted to choose movie/media sources, or companies that Tweet a lot about things related to movies and media. Screen Rant and ScreenJunkies talk exclusively about movies (or at least big majority about movies, with few mentions of non-movie subjects), so they would be a great way to get info about movies. IGN and Nerdist do a lot of media (video games, cartoons, etc.), but do have a good amount of movies. Blumhouse, Marvel, and DC talk about their respective movies that they do, be it horror or comicbook movies. All in all, they give me good sources for movie news.

Live Twitter Assignment
I really enjoyed live tweeting the PSUB Student FIlm Festival, and it turned out to be a really engaging on my end. I was always looking for things to say (not in a bad way). Even if I’m not a famous journalist or I don’t have thousands of followers, I felt as if I was giving information and updates to the public. The knowledge that I was offering people who weren’t there an experience of the event made me feel important. The tweeting was fast paced, and I had to retain information and tweet about it while more information was being presented at me (names, trivia, awards, etc.). But it was all enjoyable, and in the end a lot of fun; something I wouldn’t mind.
I would imagine that in traditional coverage, I would have to wait until after the event to report on it. But with live tweeting, I can report on it concurrently with what I’m seeing and hearing. And this let’s those not at the event have a constant stream of what they cannot be there for; I would imagine traditional coverage would not be able to do that. Honestly, I would love to get more experience with this type of journalism/media coverage, and be able to do this professionally.

I thought this was a good post. It has a short tagline, and it’s not boring. It supplements the article link and draws me in because it makes me wonder why there’s a need to point out the movie being R rated. I continue reading to see reasons why not to bring your kids to this movie (as well as sparking ideas of people actually bringing their kids to this movie). And I think it worked, since it got 4000+ likes and nearly 2000 shares.
