Cooking Dog Jun and Mystery Flower Cat Zhe

Zhehan's figure was indeed a mystery blind box.

Here was the sales image, and then even the image on the box when you received it:

The sales link stated that it was a mystery blind box single wife figure, and it would only be revealed at the end, don't ask, people. (you know people still asked 😄 )

The two figs were actually made by different sellers - you're going to see that more in posts to come, where different fig sellers collaborate with each other. It's a lot of fun! My Excel fig tracker spreadsheet gets a workout.

I love this set so much because I love the inspiration for it so much. Without further ado, here is one of my all time favorite pictures of Zhehan:

Cabbage Cook Jun is from Junjun's stint on Chinese Restaurant Season 5.

In the depths of my fig tracking spreadsheet I call these Cabbage Cook Jun and Mystery Laopo / Biergarten Han, but that's just me.

I bought both of these figures off of Xianyu, a Chinese secondary marketplace, since it pre-dated my ability/knowledge on how to buy these figures directly. The fan I bought this from put in this magnet, which I strongly suspect came as a bonus with Flower Cat Zhe since it matches the overall theme so closely, but I'm not entirely sure.

Despite the enormous affection I feel for the Untamed, I always struggled to think of a painting idea for it. The big, giant, lush, complex world would seem to offer so much to draw from, but it maybe only paralyzed me. And in the opulent abundance of art surrounding the story, so often in the style of classical Chinese paintings, I didn’t think my style would fit in… But when my sister sprang it on me recently she’d started watching, the u-turn I pulled broke the sound barrier. Rewatching, my feelings finally came together into this <3

Coming home to you (Wangxian Verse) Wei Wuxian x Lang Wangji (CQL/The Untamed) It took me almost a year to finish it and am I glad that it is finally done!

OBJECT PERMANENCE: when the latest Jin Guangshan bastard is literally dropped onto Meng Yao's desk whilst his father is away, Meng Yao winds up becoming the sole carer for his new little half-brother. with some help from the love of his life his best friend Xichen, his gremlin-in-law Wei Wuxian, and The Sibling Groupchat, Meng Yao learns a lot about fatherhood, vulnerability, and the real meaning of family. this fic has occasional moments of emotional angst, but overall is a wholesome and hilarious tooth-rotting fluff-fest with a side of excellent smut. and if you like it, you can find further snippets in that universe here on tumblr!

DETONATE: Meng Yao, a former teen popstar now trying to find his place in the music industry as an adult after a string of toxic relationships, has a Britney-style meltdown and hits true rock bottom. what he doesn't expect is how many hands there are reaching down to help him up - and the fic is all about his process of him healing, going through therapy, realising just how many people love and care about him despite his best attempts to alienate them, and discovering who he really is when he's not in the spotlight, and who he wants to be. this fic has a lot of very serious and sometimes dark and difficult themes, but at its core is a story about growth and love, and Meng Yao triumphantly finding success through taking his life and agency back.

NO DRUG LIKE ME: head nurse Meng Yao has enough on his plate with trying to stop the interns fucking in the break room, trying to stop his pigheaded cousin from causing more trouble, and trying to, you know, do his fucking job so his father doesn't get him fired, he just doesn't have time to pine over the distractingly hot and frustratingly lovely Doctor Lan! and so he's not going to do it! (he's totally going to do it) there are a few tense and mildly angsty moments, but overall this fic is fun and cute and hilariously horny hospital AU.
