Whenever I look at her and tell her she’s beautiful, she doesn’t believe me. She’ll do this cute thing with her nose whenever she remembers something she regrets, like that time she ran out on me into the rain and ended up getting sick. She’ll laugh at her own immature jokes but oh god that just makes her even more beautiful. She used to even talk about all the reasons why she loved me, she loved my voice, my laugh; she loved me. No girl ever said the words they thought about me before I met her. Sometimes, when she’s nervous, she’ll talk really quickly and it’s so relieving when I can calm her down. She is so alike me, from being in love with basketball and music, down to sharing a favorite color and television show. She spoke, and I was there to listen. At the time, I didn’t want to fall in love, But then I saw her, and holy shit I blew it.
A poem from the boy who once loved me…

Maybe time would never heal our wounds. And perhaps they never will. What I know is that time will make the healing last forever. Perhaps a wound is better than a scar. It reminds us that we’re still alive. That we’re still trying to go through life despite all the pain and all the sorrow that it has brought us. Maybe pain is better than good memories. And perhaps living in the past is better than living in the present and looking forward to a brighter future because the past is too fucking awesome to ignore. And maybe, my love. When our past, present, and future collide all at the same time one day. I hope you’ll look into my daydreaming eyes and see our histories in it. And maybe, just maybe. In the right time. We may learn to fall in love all over again.

This morning, there was enough creamer left for one more coffee. Outside, the road had a thin layer of snow and neighbors were warming their engines and shoveling each other’s walkways. This morning, I moved the curtain from the window, and watched the plants embrace the sun. I imagined how nice it must be, to live and breathe light. This morning, the dog finally caught his tail in the living room and slept under the table, waiting for bacon ends. It would be hard to notice without standing still, and I could have easily just missed it, but this morning, watching the world yawn and stretch, I knew peace.

Giant X-Ray Screen Erases Gender, Age, Race To Prove ‘We Are All Human’
There are few images more evocative of the human body than a skeleton. But it’s easy to disassociate this image with actual people. In the “Love Has No Labels” PSA featured in the video above, the skeleton is used as a symbolic reminder that – simply put – we’re all human, despite our varying identities. The yearlong initiative aims to call out some of our latent biases and prejudices.
Watch the full video to see how an X-Ray can really prove we’re all equal.
