maeve wasn't really an outgoing person, so being dragged here by a work aquaintance was something she definitely could've avoided. « here » being a loud, kinda dingy bar on the outskirts of town; motorcycles lining up at the front door where she stood, as she was waiting for her ride to pick her up. she was really done with this day, with her work aquaintance who basically abandonded her the first minute they walked in, and the stale smell of beer and smoke. at least outside it wasn't so bad, she thought— before a voice rang out in the night's silence. “ uhm ... not at all. as long as you don't blow it in my face, i guess ” , she muttered with a sort of nervous giggle. the man now standing beside her, looked intimidating at first glance; long, dark hair, leather jacket ... but she tried not to assume anything about a person from their looks, so she didn't think much of it as he stayed standing next to her.

“ huh? ” , maeve's surprised voice rings out. She'd been sitting on this bench for how long? twenty minutes? two hours? she could only tell by the half eaten bag of m&m's, that it indeed has been a considerable amout of time. she sighed, finally looking at the owner of the voice, but almost having her head in her neck trying to meet his eyes. “ please sit down, or you'll give me a stiff neck ”, she said with a hint of amusement and patted the spot right next to her on the bench. “ what brings you here ? have you been looking for me ? ” , she inquired with a half-smile, but her mind was still clouded; thinking about her father's sudden disappearance did that to a girl. but even after seven months, there still was no trace of him.
