Showmances ruined Big Brother

While going back and reminiscing about Celebrity Big Brother 1 and 2, and why they were generally well received, this whole idea just dawned on me: Showmances ruined Big Brother. Most celebrities are either in a relationship/married, or too famous to care about a relationship, meaning when they get on the show, their top priority is the money (and the title of being crowned the winner). Even though they still cast attractive people on the celebrity editions, they are almost never looking for a showmance, whereas in the regular seasons of Big Brother, they cast attractive people that know nothing about the game, just to create showmances. The producers value showmances over gameplay, and because of that, we end up getting extremely bland seasons with a majority alliance made up of all white, “attractive” couples that don’t know anything about the game (the three most recent seasons specifically come to mind). This is extremely disappointing to fans, especially since it shows that the producers don’t value their fans, or people that love the game, at all. That’s why we end up with people like Raven and Analyse that sit around and look “pretty” all day, despite there being thousands of applicants who would die to be in their position. Instead of being a game about strategy, manipulation, and a look into the typical American, we constantly get racist, wannabe Instagram models that are only there to gain views, rather than play the game they signed up for. The older seasons were way better because they cast not only average people, but people that knew what they were getting into. Big Brother went from a psychological experiment to just another generic reality show, and it’s so disappointing to see it get worse and worse each season.

If Nicole, Jess, Holly and Jackson all voted for Kathryn to stay, the five of them could have made a 5 person alliance and finally become the majority in the house (against Sis, Christie, Tommy, Nick), but Nicole really chose the uglies???? They all would have been loyal too because Holly and Jackson were already close to Kat and she could have been the bridge for them to work with Nicole and Jess. But no, now i have to see Cliff stay, Nicole work with literally the most vile and irritating people in the house only for her to get picked off the first chance they get at her. But ok.....keep making excuses for your fave. Now i see why people were canceling her........ sorry this was literally the dumbest game move she made thus far, feel free to @ me. Now she’s going to make it to final 6 and then be immediately picked off because she can’t win a comp and she’s obviously on the bottom of their totem pole. Y’all can continue to stan but her stan card has been revoked from me. Anyways, Kemi for AFP🥴
