Magnus, Clary, and Jace search for Ragnor Fell, a warlock that may hold the antidote to wake up Jocelyn.

Because imagine what it would mean to him to have a glimpse into the future, the present. Where the consul, the position he dreamed about but thought would be forever denied to him, is a gay man. Openly gay, with a husband and children and happiness and respect.

Imagine what that would mean to him, to know that there is hope, that one day people like him will no longer be denied.

The scene where they confronted him over the blackmail hit me HARD, because it was all the queer men of their generation in one room talking about that one battle they have in common, regardless of the path they take to fight it. It was a strange sort of solidarity, I think.

I don't know if it's been confirmed whether Charles made it to consul or not, but let him glimpse into the future. Let him see that there's hope, that the universe has not turned its back, not yet. Let every poet and politician and bohemian and family father who ever lived in fear, see a glimpse of their descendants, the power they are able to wield and the love they are able to receive.

Tldr: Charles and all the people he represents deserved fucking better
