I am not trying to be disrespectful but sometimes you use big/sophisticated words in your cowboy fic (it's the first one I have read of yours and I am enjoying it a lot!) and it makes me think you use AI or something similar. Again, I do not mean this to be rude but I'm curious if you do.
i use 'big words' because i have a law degree.

I saw this post on Facebook today, and was gonna make a joke about how he's so good in the lab because, when it comes to experiment samples, he knows you gotta keep 'em separated.
But I happened to search the lyric online really quick, and found this:

AMAZING. It's actually where the line came from! Bravo, sir.

The most frequent advice I got as a severely bullied kid was to ignore it. I hated this advice at the time, but it really was the best advice I was ever given in regards to bullies.
Bullies live for attention. They thrive when they feel they have power over another. Starving them of the reactions they are hoping to gain removes that sense of power.
Is it easy? Not particularly, at least not when it's in person bullying. I'm someone who cries easily. I've always worn my heart on my sleeve so to speak. It's very hard for me not to react when dealing with a bully in person or over the phone. Though at least when it's over the phone I can hang up. I learned to walk away from in person bullies, and it did help.
But it is easier to ignore online bullying and trolls. Find ways to block them, mute them, and otherwise keep them out of your sphere. Scroll past them if you can't block them. Hit the back button if you stumble upon something that upsets you. Walk away and go vent in private to a trusted friend. Hell write a long post and don't post it. I used to write letters and burn them just to get the feelings out. It's a helpful thing. But don't react in pubic. Don't feed the trolls. Starve them for attention and eventually they'll get bored and move on to try to find a more responsive target.

People are so much more sad, and desparate, and lonely than you think. I have had three incidents in the last four months were a technician I was working with was being either dangerously unfocused (we work with high voltage), or just flat out angry with their coworkers, and every time when I just pulled them aside to say hey, this isn't you, you're nice, and you're competent, so something must be up - what can I do to help - they have responded by bursting into tears. One guy was struggling to get his wife moved into a care home, one guy just got served divorce papers, and the other hadn't slept a wink the night before because his daughter had the pukes.
I haven't spent my whole life responding to people being rude, or stupid, or dangerous with knee jerk compassion. It's a new habit. The first time I did that as the lead for my lab, it was because the guy genuinely was so good natured that I knew something had to be off. But the other two times were just me going, alright, lets see if it always goes this well, and so far, it has. I'm almost 30, and I just figured out that the #1 reason people are shitty are because they are going through shit.
I don't think you have, like, a moral obligation to respond to people being jerks with knee jerk compassion. But it has made my life so much easier the last four months that I would recommend trying. For your own sake. Please.
(I'll step off my soapbox now. Enjoy your Sunday.)

I think I just realized that part of my anxiety with being in public is that I feel like I don't have the same right to use public spaces as other people do. Like they're the real People Who Use This Coffee Bar. And when I try to use it as someone who is not Inherently Worthy Of Using The Coffee Bar I'm just getting in their way

Y'all. There are 27 fics on this list that are of CSA. Twenty. Fucking. Seven.
If you are an avid fic reader, please be careful about what you click on. Read the authors notes at the end of fics before proceeding with anon fics. Block the numbers. @fookinstevienicks has multiple tutorial posts on how to block stuff on Ao3.
Most of all, PLEASE do not engage with this person. Whoever it is posting these is getting off on your upset and is intentionally doing this to create further discourse. I know you want to try and make them a better to person, to make them see the error of their ways but they WON'T. And by engaging, you may be doing more harm than good. They want attention. Try your utmost to not give it to them.

you guys are so annoying. why do i have to see discourse every year that's like "was tolkien really a woke king or was he your conservative uncle?" the guy was a devout catholic and a genteel misogynist who maintained lifelong friendships with queer people and women, and this isn't even paradoxical because that was part of the upper-class oxford culture he was immersed in. tolkien told the nazis to fuck off (and in doing so demonstrated a real understanding of what racism is and why it's harmful, beyond simply "these guys are bad news because they're who my country is at war with right now") but his inner life was marked by internalized racism that is deeply and inextricably woven into the art that he made. he foolishly described himself as an anarcho-monarchist, and it's kind of crazy to see people on this website passionately arguing that he likely never meaningfully engaged with anarchist theory, because...yeah, no shit, of course he didn't. tolkien didn't have to engage with most sociopolitical theory because as an upper-class englishman of his position, he was never affected by any of the issues that this theory is concerned with. what is plainly obvious from reading both his fiction and letters is that tolkien's ideal political system was that the divinely ordained god-king would rise up and rule in perfect justice and humility; he didn't want a government, he wanted a king arthur, even though (obviously) he was aware that outcome was impossible. why is it so hard for people to accept that he was just some guy! his letters aren't a code you have to crack. no amount of arguing or tumblr-level analysis is going to one day reveal a rhetorically airtight internally consistent worldview spanning jrrt's fiction, academic work, and personal writings, thereby "solving" the question of whether he was a woke king or your conservative uncle. his ideology was extremely inconsistent because, at the end of the day, he was just some guy.
