Hi, it’s werelivingarts. I’ve been creating contents about academic life, but I realize that I leave out many students who are having ADHD that can make studying very challenging. I’m a no expert in this field, but I’ve been researching some tips that ADHD students find useful. Therefore, I really hope that some of the tips can help you to make studying less boring and easier! ❤️
Remember: Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re being silly, or lazy, or fussing over nothing. They are trying to apply rules that work for standard brains. You don’t need to explain anything, it is nobody’s business but yours. Don’t let anybody shame you or push you around. All you need to do is smile and say, “Well, it works for me.” 💙💜💻
P/s: If you have any useful tips, please share them below!

Sustainability is something that is really important to me and I have learned how to make my college experience as low waste as possible. I recognize that there is definitely economic privilege needed to buy things like iPads for school and that some of these tips may not be accessible to everyone, but I hope some of these are helpful. Being sustainable isn’t about being perfectly zero waste, instead it is about reducing your environmental impact as much as possible.
Ipad: I take all my school notes using Good Notes on my iPad. I know that some places don’t allow you to use technology in class but this is what I use and I find it really helpful. I’m so much more organized because I am able to keep all my notes together and with me always.
Rocketbook: If you aren’t able to use an iPad, I would definitely recommend checking out the Rocketbook notebook. It is a reusable notebook that allows you to take scans of your notes then wipe off the page.
Quizlet: I know a lot of people really love paper flashcards but quizlet is so helpful! It even has games that help you learn.
Reusable water bottle: Everyone knows this but plastic water bottles are so bad for the environment! You can reduce so much waste by carrying your own bottle.
Silicone baggies: Most of my classes are back to back but all the to-go food in the dining halls are wrapped in tons of plastic. I bought these silicone ziplock bags that are so durable and convenient. I always keep a few in my bag.
Solar powered charger: A solar powered charger for your phone and laptop is super helpful. I never have to worry about running out of battery and I don’t have to use energy when I’m charging. This one seriously changed my life.
Keep a thermos for coffee: I try to not buy coffee when I’m on campus but on days when I need a pick me up, carrying my own thermos with me ensures that I don’t need to waste any plastic.

Still stuck on resolutions? Here are 21 easy habits to try in 2021!
Obviously don’t aim for all of these, but these are some little productive habits that’ll help as we move into 2021 :)
Make your bed every morning
Drink water when you wake up
Make sure you eat breakfast every day
Eat a piece of fruit every day
No working on your bed
Read a couple pages of something for fun every day
Stretch for 10mins daily
Write a line a day about how things went
Set a time to stop working every day
Make sure you take breaks while working
Never buy something online the first time you find it- give yourself a few days and see if you still want it
Buy second hand where you can
Plan your grocery shopping
Tidy your desk when you stop working!
Don’t leave your clothes on the floor
Do your washing up as you go
Make your to do list the night before
Plan your outfit the night before
Smile at yourself in the mirror when you see one
If you don’t do sports normally, put some time aside to get outside (even for a walk) a couple of times a week
Seek out local businesses and choose them over chains where you can
Here’s to a productive, happy, and healthy 2021!

new year special: unpotato self-care package
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last post for New Year Special! Through this series, I hope that we can all overcome our insecurities and take care of ourselves more during the next year! 💙 Self-care is not selfish, and you cannot spread the positivity to others when you are insecure about their performance. ❤️

A student once asked anthropologist Margaret Mead, “What is the earliest sign of civilization?” The student expected her to say a clay pot, a grinding stone, or maybe a weapon. Margaret Mead thought for a moment, then she said, “A healed femur.” A femur is the longest bone in the body, linking hip to knee. In societies without the benefits of modern medicine, it takes about six weeks of rest for a fractured femur to heal. A healed femur shows that someone cared for the injured person, did their hunting and gathering, stayed with them, and offered physical protection and human companionship until the injury could mend. Mead explained that where the law of the jungle—the survival of the fittest—rules, no healed femurs are found. The first sign of civilization is compassion, seen in a healed femur.
