ok so i DID say a majority of my issues with this episode but not all now that ive been thinking about it a lot. i GENUINELY wouldnt be upset about the “main character” thing IF… IF it was introduced AT THE VERY BEGINNING!!! Either that or something needs to happen for her to develop this complex. Which. I dont. See that??? I still dont like how they made pin hang onto the fact that ice cube didnt let pin swing with her. I get that “ohh petty blah blah blah” which is FINE but this episode really made it feel like she doesnt care about the fact that she physically got reduced to an object??? WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN SHE DIDNT WANT AN APOLOGY FOR GETTING HER LIMBS, FACE, SIZE AND INDIVIDUALITY TAKEN AWAY????? the writers were trying SO HARD to make this funny when its NOT. im not saying GRRR COMEDY EW EW EW!!!! I understand adding some jokes in serious things (think adventure time. I liked the scene with finn talking to the comet. Yeah, it wasnt COMPLETELY serious but even adding nonsensical things to the list of things finn would be free of MADE SENSE because its technically true??? Not to mention, the comet said free of both love and hate when the writers couldve been like “oh be free of everything that hurts you.” I LALALALOOOVEd that. Yes, it had some nonsensical things, but it DIDNT overshadow that whole thing. Even then, there were SERIOUS SCENES taken SERIOUSLY.)

but when the “comedy” is overshadowing something SERIOUS, i have a BIIIIIIIIIG issue. The ONLY way i’d be fine is if the characters AROUND pin were saying crazy stuff that fueled Pin’s anger. I really dont think pin should have a reason to CARE about bfdia ESPECIALLY because of the things that happened??? Honestly i feel like she would only stick around for the sake of coiny, which not even.

coiny and pin making up SUCKED… look, yeah, coinpin is cool live laugh love both romantic and platonic(ESPEICALLY PLATONIC) coinpin but like.. that happened WAY too soon. What do you MEAN shes going to apologize??? WHY?????? There needed to AT LEAST be more tension. I wouldve been okay if it was settled in idfb(AKAMYFAVORITESEASONANDEPISODE…) because it wouldve made sense. No more game to stress the both of them out, Pin can focus on healing withot thw game going on.

and again with the “woody was the main character” NO??????!?!?? I REQRCHED A LITTLE OF BFDIA TODAY AND WOODY WASNT EVEN COMPETING?????? THAT PISSED ME OFF AND IT STILL DOES. What reason did he give for her to trust him other than being less annoying????

sigh. i love this show, i really really do. I love that it went from haha funny to something more serious. I love the characters and i like the storyline and concept.

i just want the writers to stop fumbling her…. Pin being a character that i relate to(since..i dont relate to a lot. Her, pencil and fan(ii) are the only characters thar i can relate to) she kinda does mean a lot to me. It cant be great having everyone hate you, ridiculatinf you, stripping you of who you used to be (both physicallt and personality wise i suppose? Shes a lot more mean now. She little shredded a hole in book, threatened to murder im pretty sure, you get the idea) and making you distrust everyone aorund you because you cant quite tell if thwyre trustworthy. It doesnt feel good, its not something you get over quick, and its not something to fucking downplay and make a joke out of. You can HAVE a joke, just STOP PRIORITIZING THOSE OVER SERIOUS ARCS.

i KNOW thw writers are capable of this, tpot 19 SHOWS this. Recent events with One being relevant DEPICTS THAT. EVEN THE RECENT SUBSCRIBER SPECIAL DEPICTS THIS!!!! They are CAPABLE and im HAPPY where the show is going but GODDAMMIT PLEASE STOP DOWNPLAYING PINS TRAUMA AND HER ARC??? I liked Four’s moment of character developement towards the end where he was confronted about his cruelty. Yeah, he avoided it, was definitely being immature and not handling it like he shouldve. And even then, he was able to be confronted and work on himself. It SHOWS. They disnt downplay what four did??? Pencil is a perfect example. They are SHOWING YOU how four’s actions affected one of the exitors. Not only that, but added on with Pencil desperately trying to get her old friends back??? There was no downplayment. And i LOVE pencils arc. I LOVE how theyre handling it, I LOVE HOW THEY DID IT (although i dont get how Pencil could trust One…. im willing to just call it a moment caught off guard. But you would think she’d be distrusting of the sentient numbers offering her something.)

so WHY cant they do the same with pin? Whats so different about her??? Her anger, her actions, resentment, EVERYTHING. Its BEYOND playing on the swingset with ice cube. It shouldnt JUST be because of that. What about her limbs? Her face? Size?? Her independence??? if she truly didnt care, she wouldnt have led Coiny to the center of the earth, she wouldnt have told him that she was proud that he tried. That he cared enough to try. That he CARED ENOUGH TO GO OUT OF HIS WAY WHEN NO ONE ELSE WOULD DARE TO DO SO.

I dont know. Bfdia 20 couldve been saved by having pin NOT fully trusting coiny but rather apologizing in an attempt to lift some guilt. And maybe her competitiveness was just a front because coiny is like that. Just to keep the one person who Cared About Her around. But after this episode.. Golly.. The fact that Two has all that power and dint even like. Just push them away or protected themself said stuff about them. Then (idk if its canon bbbbut STIL!!!!) in one of the specials, Fourteen practically ueee Two for yhe decimal sign, i dont even think lik bri said thank you before running off to do Evil Schemes. And then when they were depressed, they were literally just asking them for answers instead if like the shitty ass phrase “are you ok?” (I HATE being asked that quesiton when the answer is Obvious but like. I feel like showing a LITTLE CONCERN would be idddkk like. KIND????? HELLO??? THEYRE IN A DEPRESSIVE STATE AND CATN FUNCTION????? WHYA RE WE NOT CONCERNED…) and at some point i remember Snowball just suggesting to drag Two out of bed just to host. i’ve said before on a post that Two mightve treated One like they treated Gaty just significantly more intense. With Gaty, i dont eeally recall her asking for much, she just came by to listen n shi (gang can we like. Not. Reduce her to two’s wifey/therapist. Shes. An individual. Shes her own person guys lets Not revolve her aorund just Two) and she engaged in conversation (that one conversatioon on the couch where Two was questioning thenself or whatever you wanna call that im bad w words but YOU GET THE IDEA. I feel like that conversations also shows how confortable they were around her to be telling her that stuff) and possibky even made then feel Heard. Maybe when One and Two first met, One made them feel heard and listened to so they quickly grew attached and started treatijg her like she was on top of the workd. And tying this w the theory that sge mightve been ridiculed when she was free, maybe At first she GENUINELY was kind. Because you dont really because fucked up evil like that like bro was unraveling that does NOT come outta nowhere.

and if what she said about relatinf w pencil was true,(not talking abt imprisonment btw) or at least semi true, that mightve led her to feeling small and insecure. Amd maybe Two’s affections looked at Fake and Condescending and it boiled to the point where the Big Bad happened that got her exiled. Four put her inside the moon where she was stuck for god knows how long. Two mightve fell into a depressive peisode just like this one and eventually had gotten better (considering how they were treated, i can only assume they actually had to recover by themself which woukd most likely make it 10x worse because now theyre back to being unheard)

so when Gaty came along, maybe it reminded them of One. Just a teeny bit. They probably blamed themself for One doing the Big Bad and getting locked away. So they toned it down bc they dont want to lose her, but then they do end up losing her. Which leads them ti now.
