When you go on a trip to a place, you walk its streets, you go to its historical and cultural sights. But why not go hiking when you go on vacation?
Mountain sports, such as hiking, are completely outdoors and you can also say that anyone who meets their requirements can do it. It's a way to be in touch with nature and fill your lungs with clean air. From knowing palm to palm the place, getting magnificent photographs of amazing sites, which not everyone accesses.
In the world there are countless places to do this activity, to name a few we have: the Camino de Santiago and the Picos de Europa, in Spain, the Inca Trail in Peru, the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, the Kalalau trail in Hawaii or the Laguna de los Tres in Argentina. Places to enjoy a unique experience.
Hiking is a type of sport, which brings very important health benefits. Things will look rewarding, a whole personal experience. Perform this type of activity, such as excursions, it is advisable to use a GPS for hiking. This allows us to guide us along the way, especially in low-visibility weather conditions.
Another thing necessary for his practice is clothes. You shouldn't wear very tight clothes, because they can bother you. Nor too loose, this can cause you to get hooked somewhere and hurt yourself. It is also not recommended that you wear sleeves or shorts, it is to protect you from scratches or the sun.
Ideal clothing and accessories for hiking trips
The ideal hiking clothes, is clothes to the body and waterproof. In the market there is a wide variety of garments, and the best at a wide variety of prices. So you can choose what you want, and what suits you best.
Depending on the time we are making routes we will choose the most suitable clothes: fleece lining, gloves, socks, cap, cap, sunglasses, raincoat, waterproof jacket or a folding umbrella to protect us from the rain.
Wearing inappropriate footwear is one of the most commonly mentioned errors, so it is highly recommended to use hiking boots. Keep in mind that you're going to walk through rough, uneven terrain for several hours. Therefore we need a shoe that protects us, that avoids injuries and twists.
Another must-have is a hiking backpack. This should be suitable for practicing this sport. You must have the right weight and dimensions so you don't get in the way. The use of canes is also recommended for use.
Also during the routes it is advisable to bring food, canteen with water (depending on the path, 1 or 2 liters of water) personal medicine, blister strips (on the market there are strips that instantly placate the pain) and sun creams that protect us from the sun.
Activities such as hiking on our trips, hiking to the countryside or the mountains, allow us to be in a good condition both physically and mentally, disconnecting from stress and busy life, especially in the big cities.

Roman Colosseum of Rome in Italy
In this occasion I invite you to know one of the most important monuments in the world. We move to Rome, capital of Italy, where I propose to visit the Roman Colosseum.
Arriving at this imposing amphitheatre, we can get an idea of what has been the greatness of the Roman Empire.
It is a circular construction, built between the 70s and 80 a.d., in order to serve as a social meeting point and for the realization of all kinds of shows in ancient Rome, such as the bloody fights between gladiators and wild tigers or lions, which you have surely seen in more than one film.
It is Emperor Vespasian who came up with the idea of building this place, which, although it may seem like a lie, was fun.
With a capacity to accommodate 50,000 spectators, has four floors and in its time of splendor, its stands were occupied according to social status and sex, being the first places occupied by the Emperor and his senators and the highest stands by the lower class.
In the area of the Colosseum there are many very interesting buildings and monuments to know given its architectural beauty and especially because each of them encloses its history, some of them are the Roman Forum, the Arch of Constantine and the Scala Santa.
In the time of Christianity the bloody spectacles of the Colosseum were banned and since then, it has been used for other purposes, very different from those in the glory period of the Roman Empire.

Notre Dame Cathedral in the city of Paris
Considered one of the most important Gothic-style cathedrals in the world, Notre Dame symbolizes much more than architecture and religion.
Built in 1345, it has been included in literary works and in it have happened very outstanding historical events. It is said that this religious temple was built in honor of Mother Mary, it is for this reason that its name Notre Dame arises.
One of the peculiarities of this building is that it is located on an island, specifically on the Island of La Cité. This architectural symbol can be visited by tourists not only to be able to observe its Gothic style, but also there happened a series of very important events.
The monument witnessed the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte. It is also due to numerous social and political revolutions, and suffered constant looting, as did its relics.
Notre Dame also witnessed the beatification of Joan of Arc and also there henry VI of England was crowned. History has marked its footprints in this construction, which is a symbol of France, since during World War II it was used as a food depot. However, despite the continuous battles that existed the building witnessed large cultural episodes and still continues as a symbol of Gothic architecture.
In addition to its majestic building, this monument has crypts, they can be visited by tourists. If you are in Paris it is essential to climb the tower of the construction of Notre Dame and get an incredible view of the Parisian city, as well as the River Seine and Ile de la Cité. Although tourists can access the church for free, if we want to climb the tower or visit the crypt, we must pay a fee.

The Petronas Towers
In many cases, some architectural works become part of the monumental heritage of some of the major cities, such as the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia.
They have a height of 452 meters and were built with concrete, steel and glass materials. For six years (1998/2003) they were the tallest buildings in the world, until Taiwan's Taipei 101 building was completed in 2003. Now The Burj Dubai in Dubai, leads the world ranking with a height of 828 meters. The Towers are a symbol of Malaysia's progress and modernization.
Its construction began in 1988, by the hand of the Argentine architect Csar Pelli. The Twin Towers have 88 floors and 78 lifts and are linked by the skybridge, a double-height walkway between the 41st and 42th floors.
The best time to enjoy the Towers is at sunset. The typical viewing place is from the lake, surrounded by corridors and gardens. Petronas Towers are particularly spectacular when fully illuminated at night. On the esplanade surrounding the Towers there are restaurants with indoor and outdoor lounges.
Everyone in Kuala Lumpur refers to the Twin Towers as the tallest buildings in the whole country and a true icon of Malaysia. In each video film, whether musical or commercial, mention is made to the Towers. As early as 1999 they starred in the film "Entrapment", with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Tower of Pisa (Italy)
Pisa is a beautiful little Italian city crossed by the Arno River. In the center of this city, right in the old town, is the representative Plaza de los Milagros, a chamber that brings together four of the most important religious monuments built in the Middle Ages that are: the Baptistery (site intended for baptisms), the cemetery of the city, the Cathedral and the emblematic Tower.
History and properties of the Tower of Pisa
The Tower of PisaIf we stop to think of the most important monuments, recognizable and visited in the world, it is impossible that the grandiose and symbolic Tower does not cross our minds, one of the wonderful works of architecture that for the most attractive, has a touch that makes it much more special and is that the tower is crooked and seems about to fall.
During all these years, it has been commented that the author of this work was the architect Bonanno Pisano, who would begin the construction of the first floor in the XII century, exactly on August 9, 1173. But it is not yet known for certain who was actually the architect who was tasked with the construction of this great work.
It was built with the idea of being a bell tower to accompany the cathedral, this had to be completely vertical like all normal towers, but things did not go as planned. Five years it took to build the first three floors, and when they started to build the fourth floor something started to go wrong, and the tower began to tilt north.
Almost a hundred years later the architect Giovanni di Simone dares to resume the building by building vertically the four floors that were missing but the consequences were catastrophic. Keep bowing and they decide to stop the play again. In 1298 Tommaso Pisano decided to continue the construction of the bell tower leaving the tower fully ready for its opening in 1372.

Visit Sicily (Italy)
In this first post, we moved to Italy to visit Sicily. It is separated from the mainland, by the Messina Strait and surrounded by the Ionian Sea, Tyrrhenian Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
As the most densely populated island in the Mediterranean, it is considered one of the tourist destinations in Europe. It is the jewel of southern Italy, for the riches that its nature provides.
When we talk about the weather in Sicily, the Mediterranean climate favors the island with warm summers and mild winters, so any time is ideal, to visit this Italian island.
If you want to plan a trip to this magnificent mediterranean island, here you have this tourist guide from Sicily, with relevant information about sites of interest to enjoy both day and night, either alone, as a couple or a group of friends or family.
Interesting places to visit in Sicily
On a trip to Sicily, you can enjoy its mountains, hills and especially the sea, which is a colorful spectacle, with transparent and warm waters, that let you show its beautiful seabed. Among the best beaches in Sicily that you can visit we have:
• San Vito lo Capo, is one of the busiest beaches in the north of Sicily and with large hotel complexes, which offer all the services for the maximum enjoyment of its water activities.
• Scala Dei Torchi, with its fine white sand, which is located in the western part of the island. It has a series of terraces sculpted by the waves and the wind.
Other tourist attractions on this island are: the Valley of the Temples, in the city of Agrigento, in the south of Sicily. These spectacular temples date back to the Roman era of Agrigento and were a strategic site for ancient sailors. These temples were built with a limestone typical of the area and are still many standing, surrounded by olive groves dating back 800 years.
Among the most important cities of Sicily, of course is its capital Palermo, which shows us the styles of all the cultures that conquered it throughout history: Arabs, Spaniards, Normans, Austrians, Carthaginians and Byzantines. It has extraordinary museums, the Catacombs of the Capuchins, the Fontana Pretoria and the Palazzo Dei Normanni. On our visit, we can not leave aside, visit Palermo Cathedral.
Another great destination we can find in Sicily is Taormina. It is a city, which has a lot of day and night activity, with a splendid nature. In summer you can enjoy events, plays, concerts and popular markets.
We can also visit Cefalu, being one of the most visited places in Sicily in summer. You can visit the Cathedral of Cedo, the Palace of Mary, the Temple of Diana and the Osterio Magno.
