hate hate hate how sites are increasingly trying to make right click saving images impossible. facebook, instagram, reddit (app), pinterest*, etc... all make you jump through hoops just to save an image. can you guys not please. how ddo i make them stop. can we get one of those EU regulations or whatever that makes them all comply, or are we going to have to wait for global socialism for that. ugh

i think it's funny when people say "yeah the writers use they/them for this character but that doesn't necessarily mean the character is nonbinary" because i guess it's true but by that logic i can say "yeah this character is referred to with he/him but they never say he's a man so i can do whatever i want" which i may actually start doing because it sounds based as fuck. if you want me to believe that action hero is a man maybe you should've been more direct about it smh.

Daily Check in 08/05/2025 MasterCard got REALLY Spicy with me today. As soon as I mentioned Itch io and Steam to the first rep he HUNG UP. The second one I called was apologetic and filed my complaint ticket, but WOW. They are getting really tired of these calls. Which means KEEP IT UP! PayPal was much less spicy with me today, and filed a complaint ticket for me and offered to send me a list off all the stuff they won't process. Which is really just a list of the things they require APPROVAL to process, which is very different. Lot of false information going around over there and they're back to playing dumb about the situation with Itch io and Steam. Which means we need to keep the pressure on. Strip still refuses to take the call, and Visa just read the script and hung up as usual, though I was able to make me direct me around the sight a bit first. They even

directed me to their website where they have a fun little article about the situation called "Combating Illegal Adult Content." https://corporate.visa.com/en/about-visa/visa-network-integrity.html You'll need to scroll down a bit to find the article. When I asked what illegal content they were combating, I was directed to send them an email about that question and they finished the script and hung up.

Keep calling and keep asking questions! Don't let their excuses go unchallenged. This about about "illegal activity" this is about censorship and we can only fight it by making our voices heard!

i know the porch is not the place to ask this but my question is: can our sexuality change? because i've been looking, and i found that most answers no, but it feels weird to me that if someone claims they are aroace but end up falling in love with someone anyways, they are considered to "have always been that way and only now found out", but when someone fell in love, and then out of it and never experienced the same thing again, we don't consider them as aroace.

but also i can't really trust Google on gender issues (i tend to believe what i found will often be skewed by whatever political belief is right now "trending").

it would be really great if everyone in the porch chimes in because i really wanna hear a lot of perspectives about it. thanks for letting me stay on the porch

Good lord, is that the answer Google's giving out? Yes, sexuality can absolutely change over the course of someone's life.

Obviously, some people have their One Exception, whether that's falling in love one time or falling in love one time with a certain gender, and lots of people think they're one thing only to later realize they're another. I would not consider an aroace person who had One Exception to not be aroace unless they decided that's what it meant.

But on top of that, some people really do understand themselves to have been orientation A from 15-45 and orientation B from 45 onward (or whatever).

This type of identity is a personal, internal experience. We can't measure someone's Authentic Gayness Quotient. We can only rely on their own reports of what things felt like. And yes, some people do just up and change rather than having been mistaken and then realizing the truth.

Of course, it's unpopular to talk about because asshats will use it as an excuse to further their various queerphobic agendas, but that doesn't stop it from happening.

All those are unofficial and available on the Google play store as of August 13th 2025. They mirror AO3's content and insert ads, for which the developer gets paid by page impression (that's every time the ad appears in the fic you're reading) not just clicks.

No money goes to AO3, nor to the fic writer. It goes to the person who did the bare minimum.

Many of these apps have poorly worded or non existent privacy policies, so they may also be mining as much data as possible and selling that on to unknown third parties.

Please, just use the official AO3 site and the browser.
