All the live action remakes that Disney has done are pretty bad and it’s just annoying to not get good movies

BUT the live action reimagine for Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent, was fucking fantastic and nobody can convince me it’s bad. I think it’s way more compelling of a story. Not cause it’s feminist or whatever but because it shifts the focus from romantic love to familial while also fleshing out an interesting villain.

Also it doesn’t feel overly preachy to me, it just feels like that classic thing where it ends all happy but has a clear moral.
