Also, I forgot to mention in my theory, Reki was a threat for Adam because Langa was in "love" (in Adam's dictionary) with Reki. For Adam, love is like 2 + 1 (Adam, Eve and skateboarding -maybe we can say that it's forbidden apple...? Idk someone also mentioned it in their analysis on tiktok but I don't remember at all...?-) Reki was a crowd, an obstacle for their love. As soon as Adam noticed that, he tried to get rid of Reki. And the same happened to Miya and Takashi. Miya was in love with Takashi (not that way, I'm talking by Adam's terms) so Takashi was a crowd because Adam and Eve had to be alone with each other (?). Adam got rid of Takashi to take Miya to himself. Also we can say it like Langa has fun with Reki while skating and Miya USED TO have fun with Takashi while skating. Adam is all alone. I wanna also mention that before Adam, Miya used to be so genuine still he is but buried. Miya's emotions are so readable even he keeps them to himself. If Miya smiles genuinely or happy, he blushes A LOT. If he's upset, he can't hold back his tears, if he's angry, his antennas and tail are up and claws are on. If he's scared and anxious, he shakes. If he's worried, he's loud and can't stop talking. If he feels insecure, unintentionally bullies his friends but he really doesn't mean it. Thanks for reading. If you wanna argue, just comment we can debate about it all day.

I have a SK8 theory about Miya and Adam I don't know how many of you guys will agree with that but Adam has a huge role falling off friendships between Miya and Takashi. Adam noticed a potential in Miya to be his own Eve and wanted to keep him all to himself also Miya was a great tool for him. So probably Adam went to Takashi first or just was wandering around and manipulated Takashi like "oh Miya gonna leave others behind around here with his talent", "Miya is fine all by himself and with his talent" etc or he went to Takashi and said "Miya doesn't need untalented friends like you, you can be just a sidekick, not more" straightforward and of course that made Takashi upset and caused the situation end up with an abandonment speech. Miya was confused and emotionally vulnerable so Adam manipulated him as well easily. Miya's lines in the early episodes were actually Adam's lines and he needs Reki to find true himself. If Langa even didn't appeared, Miya would stay like Adam's current Eve and I can't imagine what he would do to Miya. Miya's whole messed up mental caused by Adam. Miya wasn't like that, Adam formed Miya's guarded up persona. Thanks for reading.

Huh. So, in SK8, three different characters that I've found on a cursory glance are named after major places on Naha, where the story is set. The most obvious one is probably Joe, whose family name Nanjo comes from Nanjō City, the smallest city on Naha, famous for its castle ruins. Nearby is the town of Chinen, where we get Miya's name from, and to the south is Cape Kyan, where Reki's name is from.
These are probably remenants from the Ryukyu kingdom, when upper-class Okinawans would get their family names from the places they ruled or came from. Families living there at the time of annexation under the Meiji dynasty would also have been added to the name register under their places of residence. This means that Miya, Joe, and Reki's families have been in Okinawa for a WHILE, and that there's a pretty good chance they're descended from the upper-class families who were allowed to have kamei (家名) for names.
Shadow's family name Higa isn't a place name, but it is the most common surname in Okinawa, (maybe to signal to viewers that he isn't very "rare" or talented, or to make his plainclothes character seem all the sillier,) tying him pretty strongly to the island. Langa's name, Hasegawa, is also not a direct placename, but it's a common name among the Ryukyu islands and certain parts of eastern Japan, and would hold a distinctly "Okinawan" or "Beach-y" vibe to Japanese viewers.
In contrast, Cherry's surname is pretty unique. I don't actually speak Japanese, so I can't read the articles that came up when i searched the kanji, but given that his character page was the eighth to come up in search results and the second to come up when i searched the kana, I'd wager that it was made for the show. Maybe in-universe, his family invented it during the annexation? Or maybe it isn't an actual family name, and is Cherry's "pen name," as it was, for his art. It's a very artistic sounding name.
Again, though, I don't read Japanese, and most of what I know about Okinawan family names comes from Wikipedia trawling. If anyone has better input, I'd be happy to hear it.

Welcome to Txampaytxurtel Island, the tranquil pearl of the pacific. The people from this island are known for their hospitality and warmness towards other clans and sky people so count yourself as their family member already.
This island has their own unique features, culture and activities such as surfing. The waves are so good for surfing and everyone also have surfing competitions during Naha festival.
Txurtelan people are also known for their unique reptile anatomy, evolved for surviving in both land and marine life. Also, I forgot to mention; their skin produce mucus as a defense mechanism. The mucus helps to keep their skin moist, aids in respiration through their skin. Additionally, it can also help in maintaining electrolyte balance and thermal regulation.
This fanclan is an alternative universe for the anime called "Sk8 the infinity" so these clans, culture and the island itself are based on Okinawa island in real life. So that's why characters have no specific hair, eye colour or height measurement.
I couldn't finish character designs so I have to put them in another post next time.

Is there any special meaning to any of the SK8 characters' names when translated?
I was prepared to just say, other than ADAM who I've already explained in other posts, no not really. But there are some things about their names I guess I could explain.
A lot of their names are very Okinawan. It helps show the show takes place in Okinawa.
Kyan Reki (喜屋武暦) Reki's name Kyan is a Ryuukyuu name. Ryuukyuu are the native people who live on the Okinawan islands.
Hasegawa Langa (馳河ランガ) Langa's name is just a normal Japanese name, though that probably means he's using his mother's last name because his father was Canadian. A lot of half Japanese people use their mother's maiden name as their official Japanese name. He might have another last name they haven't told us?
Chinen Miya (知念実也) Chinen is the 11th most common name in Okinawa. They named him Miya to sound like a cat meowing.
Higa Hiromi (比嘉広海) Higa is the most common last name in Okinawa.
Sakurayashiki Kaoru (桜屋敷 薫) His is not an Okinawan name at all. It's most common in Hokkaido. Sakurayashiki means cherry blossom estate. Kaoru means a nice aroma.
Nanjou Kojirou (南城虎次郎) Nanjou itself isn't a common name in Okinawa, but there is a city in Okinawa named Nanjou. There are a lot of castles on Okinawa from old Ryuukyuu empire. The ko (虎) in Kojirou means tiger.
Shindou Ainosuke (神道愛之介) I made a post about the meaning of Ainosuke and I mentioned Shindou here. His name is just really weird lol.
Kikuchi Tadashi (菊池 忠) I've mentioned before that his name means chrysanthemum pool. Tadashi means loyalty/devotion.

A little preview of Miya from Naha Clan, Txampaytxurtel island. Txampaytxurtel means Ocean Rope which represents Okinawa.
