How did we get to the point in society where its okay for news organizations to livestream a funeral to see who shows up? How is this not too fucked up of a notion for news media?

The problem with being an older 1D fan at the moment is finding ways to contain the blinding rage. Liam is … fuck … was younger than my son!! From the age of 16 he was not protected, not cared for, emotionally abused, physically exhausted all the time. All so absolute demons like Simon Cowell could get rich. They took such beautiful energy, used him, and they away the toxic waste for someone else to deal with. I’m beyond furious!

as someone who is never on tumblr anymore i just wanted to say that this was the first place i ran to last night when i read the news. but i was in such a shock that i had no idea what to say, so i just read everyone's posts while trying to process. and still today i have no idea what to say. i still can't believe it. so i just wanted to send all my love to you guys, please take care of yourselves and each other. i love you 🤍

I know it’s been 14 years and a million things since then but I want an inquest into the X factor. I want to know what was in place to protect the minors on the show, I want a report on the abuse and coercion and I want people to be held accountable.

1000%. katie waissel and rebecca ferguson's tweets sum it up well. Everyone involved around that show need to be investigated and there needs to be some concrete changes in how reality show contestants are handled and further protection and care in place for musicians/actors/performers from their labels/management.

I truly believe we wouldn't be needing to have this awful conversation right now had things had been managed differently from the very start.
