Can we talk about Loser, Baby?
TW: SA, and suicidal experiences
I've seen some very mixed opinions on this song, which is totally fine! Like, obviously people are gonna have different opinions, ya know? Personally, I enjoy the song, and that's just my opinion. But the issue I'm running into is that I've seen so many people talk about this song in an almost dishonest way in order to justify what they think about it.
Firstly, I want to remind everyone of something that I think people sometimes forget about this show. THEY'RE IN HELL. Of course you want your main characters to not be completely morally-bankrupt, but Husk is NOT a therapist. 'Loser, Baby' is not a song about properly addressing trauma, not Angel's and not Husk's, it's about meeting someone where they're at and acknowledging that shit sucks, but it sucks less together. It's not perfect, it's a bit harsh and Angel's initial reaction is to be offended, but it's harsh because vulnerability is easier when it comes from a place of humor or making fun, not because it's genuinely calling SA victims losers. Husk doesn't only poke fun at Angel, he makes fun of himself too, and while plenty of what he says is distasteful, it obviously comes from a place of caring, which is the entire point. Again, it's Hell, this is exactly what the good in people is gonna look like here.
Another thing I've seen people say is that the song is bad because it encourages people to continue their shitty coping mechanisms, like a toxic form of self-acceptance. I think that sometimes people forget things that are within a show are shown to us through the context of said show. This song is not encouraging people to continue bad habits and not try to get out of their toxic relationships, this song is coming from Husk. HUSK. A flawed character who sees his own situation as hopeless, because how tf do you get out of a soul contract??? Telling Angel Dust it won't get better at the start of the song is born from the character's pessimism or acceptance about something that he views as impossible. Not to mention that the end of the song, at least to me, reads as almost hopeful about the idea that having a friend who understands actually CAN change something. This is not a song about staying the same and not trying to see a brighter future, it's a song about acknowledging that sure you might be a lil fucked up, and have some bad coping mechanisms, but you aren't alone, and maybe because you aren't alone, stuff will get better.
Finally, the biggest criticism I think I've seen is people being upset that Husk compares his situation to Angel's. I do understand why people are upset about this, but I do think that some of it may come from misinterpretation. I'm not saying that sexual assault is comparable to other forms of trauma, I'm saying that A LOT of traumas don't really compare to each other. I wasn't abused as a child, I've never been in a car accident, I've never experienced home invasion or the death of a parent, and I would never claim to understand entirely what people with those experiences have gone through. However, relating to each other is a very normal thing to do, and Husk isn't saying their situations are the same, he's saying that both of them signed away their souls and felt hopeless and lost afterwards, which IS an experience that they share. People who are uncomfortable with Husk's comparison are totally justified for having those feelings, I would never genuinely call someone wrong for how they feel. I just think that the way these experiences are talked about in the song is less about comparing traumas, and more similar to comparing states of being. The easiest way for me to explain this is a personal example I think. I've been extremely suicidal at a couple points in my life, and there were various reasons for these feelings at various times. Ya know, a combination of genetic mental illnesses, and traumatic experiences will give you some weird feelings. And at these points in my life I had friends that were also suicidal that I spoke to about it, and we would laugh about our fucked up feelings together, and feel a little better about stuff at the end. Did me and these friends have the same experiences? No, not at all, but we were bonding over our emotions and our states of being, which were similarities we shared. 'Loser, Baby' reminded me of some of the conversations I had. And those conversations, while imperfect, were sometimes the only things keeping me around.
Again, I don't want anyone to think that I'm trying to speak over the people who feel like the song mishandled its subject matter, I just want to have a more open conversation. I've seen just as many people claim to feel seen, comforted and understood by the song as I've seen people claim that it handles things incorrectly. I don't think that my opinion is fact or anything like that. But with so many people feeling genuinely represented, it's at least not an OBJECTIVELY harmful song.
At its core, 'Loser, Baby' is a song about self-acceptance, and relating to others who feel like you feel, or like you've felt in the past. It's a song about understanding each other, even if you don't know everything. It's about seeing someone feeling something you've felt before, and offering them your hand. This song says, hey it might not get better, but you aren't alone, and sometimes that's what you need to hear. Sometimes you're in such a bad place that you can't imagine things improving, and "it gets better" feels hollow. Sometimes you just have to cling to your friends and say "Shit sucks, but I love you" instead of "Shit sucks and one day it'll suck less". I've been there before, and so have so many other people. That's what the song's really about, at least to me.
I don't know if I explained this well, but I hope that at least one person will read this and understand where people who enjoy the song are coming from, even if they disagree.

Interesting that Lilith doesn’t identify as a Morningstar. 👀 🤔
Not saying that's she obligated to take Luci’s last name, but I just think it's an interesting attention to detail.
It manifesting my ideas of Luci being Charlie’s main parent for whatever reason as opposed to Lilith or both of them jointly raising her. And honestly single dad Luci is an interesting concept I can get behind.

Can we talk about how, despite everyone's views on the hotel, they're all still willing to help her? This so cute! I'm such a sucker for found family tropes!

Never thought I’d have to post this on my main.
ProjectAnomaly is a groomer and a huge bitch. Do not take anything they say at face value. They are absolutely insane and they need professional help. Do not interact with them, do not support them, do not believe them.
No one’s “stalking” anyone. ProjectAnomaly is an abusive friend, tried to pry me (a minor) away from friends, and even though they could take me out of my home and that it wouldn’t be weird. They’ve sent nsfw to minors. They are TERRIBLE to partners and friends alike and their flash mob of rabid, dream-like stans is terrible.
Fuck them. Do not ask about them to me. But they make me horrifically uncomfortable and the fact that they have so much support is disgusting.
And if you’re somehow reading this? Fuck you, Juno. Fuck you.
And if they get this acc taken down my alt is @edibletrees22

I think some people are a bit confused. Murder drones isn't really ending. It's just the SEASON 1 finale, not the series finale. Unless if they cancel season 2, which I'm pretty sure isnt happening. We all just need to be patient 👍
Tho why is this mf still angry 😭😭.

So one prediction I have is that these particular moments are from the same scene
I mean the last screenshot N and Uzi are in the same positions as the previous two screenshots and I'd also like to point out that one of Uzi's hand lights is YELLOW!
So what I think happens here is the solver briefly takes control over Uzi but N snaps her out of it and as for why Uzi isn't holding the cross in the last screenshot she could've dropped it out of shock from her hurting N

Okay I'm gonna get into a bit of a rant here and say that a bad ending for Murder Drones would not make any sense because the show hasn't really justified or even earned having a bad ending and if it did it what purpose would it even serve to the overall story and themes and I'd also like to remind you that Liam has said in the past that he prefers his longer stories to have happy endings and that having a bad ending doesn't automatically equate to better writing. There's also the fact that a lot of signs are pointing to there being a s2 so that alone makes me doubt we're getting an "and everyone dies" ending a bittersweet ending to the season possibly but not a full on bad ending (I personally think that Copper 9 is gonna be completely destroyed by the end of the season especially considering this visual from season 1 teaser image)

Yeah I'm scared too
A few people pointed out that during the scene in the trailer where N's being dragged away he was grabbing on to what looks to be Uzi's beanie
Oh.
Oh
No.

About the new trailer
BRO I DON'T THINK THAT I'M GOING TO BE ABLE TO TAKE IT ANYMORE IF THE SHOW ENDS WITH A BAD ENDING
PLS HAVE A GOOD ENDING
WHAT IS UP WITH THAT CYN/SOLVER VOICE SOUNDING MORE NORMAL
THAT HONESTLY SOUNDS LIKE NORI BUT CONTROLLED
I WANT THEM TO SURVIVE I WANT N TO REUNITE WITH HIS SISTER
I WANT HIM TO REALISE THAT CYN ISN'T THE SOLVER
WE NEED V WE NEED J WE NEED THE WHILE CAST

It's actually a 3D show it just seems to have some cell shading
Here's a teaser that was posted by the creator in November of last year so I assume that Glitch might've picked it up sometime after that
youtube
If glitch is really going to announce a aew show/pilot at the special announcement at GlitchX i am going to be very surprised???? Not in a bad way
Do glitch really have enough money to run 3 SHOWS at the same time?????? Thats Very impressive especially for an indie studio

I’m sorry but I’m 99% certain that the major announcement at the expo is gonna be MDs s2 getting greenlit.
The schedule and announcement promise were out before the digicirc pilot even released, so they can’t have greenlit a s1 of the show that far in advance. It’s definitely not a new show, they’re already workin on 2 (3 if one counts smg4). Plus, Gooseworx said on her tumblr a mere few days ago that digicirc hasn’t been greenlit just yet.
Statistically, an announcement for MDs s2 is most likely. Even if not, there’s damn near 0 chance that the announcement is gonna be digicirc related.
