Seedy Saturday: Beets! Beets are a veggie power house - the roots are packed full of fiber, manganese and potassium and the greens (eat those too!) are a great source of calcium, iron and vitamins A and C. Two other neat things that beets contain are betaine and trytophan, the former being something that is often used in depression treatments and the latter, something that is also found in chocolate that is said to sooth and calm the nerves - so if you're feeling blue or on edge, a beet salad or a warm bowl of borscht is just what the doctor ordered! #seedysaturday #wegotthebeat
