The issue that these vampires deal with all the time and consistently throughout the books is the fact that you never die. You never know, really, what is the meaning of anything. And religion, throughout the ages, 'cause these are old creatures, is the main catechism that kind of keeps running at them.

I think in a post reunion friends with benefits loustat scenario lestat would take it in stride much more than people think. That's not to say he would be happy about it, neither of them would, I think it would make them both miserable. However I do think lestat knows how he looks, knows he's hot and good at sex. His looks are the one thing about him that's gotten him consistently chosen, the crux of his life, the reason magnus chose him etc etc. He also (wrongly) thinks himself unlovable and (even more wrongly) thinks louis doesn't love him, didn't then and even less now. So I think he would rationalize it, because in his head it makes perfect sense "louis doesn't love me but he wants this from me" And there's not a chance he wouldn't give it to him, even if it kills him. He's also not willing to lose louis completely again, so he would just take what he can get
