small fluff about baking with josh ᯓ★

— established relationship ' josh futturman x gn!reader

this is my first time making / writing a ff so it may be odd !!!

You and Josh have been in a relationship for quite some time now, it's not to the point he wants, or rather needs to put a pretty ring on your finger from how he craves to make you his and marry you but it's nice with the two of you. You two do most stuff together, whether if it's him helping you play one of his games, going out for lunch, going to the cinemas, or anything really. You two were inseparable. 

His hand shakily attempts at smearing the icing from the decorating bag to the biscuits that were strangely shaped into things that matched his favourite game "Biotic Wars", he constantly ranted about. There wasn't particularly any cookie cutters that were shaped like guns or bombs so you and josh had to do the best of your abilities with a knife which was left behind on the counter still with some sticky dough on it.

"Here." You coo, trying to help him with the task at hand but he's too engulfed in trying to help he doesn't hear you. "Josh," You say a little louder, now helping him ice them, he was trying so hard for them to be perfect for you due to how he was so shaky he was, trying to put the flawless amount of icing onto them but really neither of you cared if they were messy at least you two made them together. You take the bag from his hands, your fingertips gently brushing against his fingers which makes both of your lips crack up into a subtle smile.

You smoothly smear the icing onto one of the weirdly figured cookies, as you start going to spread it onto the whole top of the cookie he now decides you can wait for a moment, attaching his lips to your neck. Josh's kiss is gentle, and his lips are warm making you smile again at the feeling and adoration he shows to you though it doesn't last a long while before he's pulling away and smiling at you with glee.

"Here, let me try again." He mumbles a bit with fondness and delight, leaning over you and grabbing for the piping bag from your hold lazily before adjusting the pan to ice a specific one that was easier for him. The blue goop spills out unpleasingly, but neither of you mind. As he moves to ice another one, his lips connect to your neck again, resulting in you letting out a small exhale through your nose instead of a giggle. He continues to kiss you lightly as he firmly pushes the frosting out of the nozzle. 

You try to look at him but it's a little difficult on how your head isn't turned and he's behind you but you manage to once he hesitantly pulls back. You kiss his lower lip gently before his hands tangle through your hair slowly, it feels like an hour before he reaches the end of your hair and he rests his hands lightly on the small of your back. His hands aren't firm instead soft and gentle almost like a feather touching your back. But so is the kiss, it's not rough and needy but soft and loving. You can feel Josh's lips slightly curl up into a smile against your lips and it delights you.

After what feels like an entirety of your lips touching, his lips pull away reluctantly and he looks through this lashes and hooded eyes pleasantly. His hands finally drift off of your back lazily pulling away. There's a small blush on his cheeks and it makes you crave him even more and a mischievous toothy smile that also makes the corner of his eyes crinkle a little appears on his face as he keeps the sweet, strong eye contact with you. "I love you," He whispers softly, his hands moving up to rest beneath your jaw to keep your head up and his thumb stroking your cheek lightly, so soft it almost tickles. "I love you too." You say, with the same quietness as him.

♡ absolutely spoils you with gifts, anything you want, you got it. there's too many gifts for you to count, and more comes throughout the day. ♡ his limo picks you up and drops you off at a fancy restaurant where he meets you for dinner, littering your neck with kisses in front of the entire place. ♡ surprise! he's rented the rooftop bar for drinks, it's just derek, you and the stars. ♡ he whispers sweet nothings in your ear, talking about how you'll get your real gift later in his penthouse. in bed.

♡ he works extra shifts for weeks to afford something nice for you. he tries to hide the blush on his cheeks, looking anywhere but into your eyes as he gives you your gift. ♡ he and abby bake you a cake, it's adorable. abby helps you blow out the candles. ♡ you all watch a movie together, bundled up under blankets with takeout pizza. mike can't seem to wipe the smile from his face. ♡ later, mike kisses you senseless in bed, mumbling about how he's so lucky to have you.

♡ he wakes you with feather-light kisses along your neck, whispering 'happy birthday babe' in your ear. ♡ takes you to a drive-in movie, making out with you during the credits. ♡ spends the full day joined to your hip, kissing you and wrapping his arms around you every chance he can get. ♡ pretends he hasn't bothered to get you a cake, but then surprises you later, using one of the lit candles to light his own cigarette with a smirk on his face.
