     “hey, this friend can totally be plausible. why must you doubt me?” though, with a shake of her head, vicky shot mari a smile. “we should have a donut eating contest one day. somehow bring eli into it, i’m sure that’d be something.” the thought of her older brother doing something remotely like that was a sight to imagine, and likely one of the dumbest ideas she had [ which says a lot, granted ]. but soon the impending possibility of their father not being happy about it came to mind and she instantly waved a hand dismissively. “... on second thought, maybe that’s not a great idea.”

     “what if it turns into one? i hope it doesn’t, no matter how good they are. it’ll be, i don’t know, inconvenient because then i’ll always want some and... honestly i already do too many unhealthy things with my life.” she paused, looking up at her brother, “plus i don’t think dad’ll be happy if i constantly get them...” it wasn’t that she thought he would disapprove of the sugar, it was more that it could get in the way of her working for --- with --- him somehow.

“I was umm already here, the doctor’s wanted to run a few checkups and I hate traveling on my own, so my Dad was err gonna pick me up later,” she replied having to resist the urge to cringe at her own awkwardness.

     vicky was quiet as she listened, nodding when the other finished. it was odd to almost think people’s parents picked them up without having it feel like some obligation, but the brunette pushed that thought out from her mind. she wasn’t an obligation to her own dad --- no. victor has important things to do, and vicky was fine driving by herself now. it didn’t mean anything. “oh,” was all she said before taking a breath. “well... what movie is it? is it anything scary?” she was a fan of horror and thrillers for as long as she could remember, but it wasn’t unusual that some people weren’t that into it.

     “if i say i’d kill for it without hesitating, is it then an addiction?” she wouldn’t, possibly. she’d kill for other reasons; mainly for her father and if it came down to it eli, too, but that was about all. why would she kill for something she can buy? she was potentially crazy, but not that crazy. “i think it’s just a craving. sweet tooth stuff.”

     “yeah, that’s what everyone’s been saying... luckily it hasn’t gotten that serious. what a headline that’d be: girl can’t go five minutes without stuffing face with donuts.”

I know I’m smart, I don’t need to acknoledge who loves donuts and who don’t to be smart.” River said with a shrug, looking at her before shaking his head slightly. “Honestly, are you really praising donuts to me?” He raised his eyebrows before nodding slightly. “This is great. I prefer savory to sweet.” 

     “honestly? yes i am, and they make savory donuts, too. well, maybe not at shops and bakeries, but you can get online recipes for pretty much... anything these days. once i saw a mac and cheese donut, you know.”
