“Don’t look too forward to it, though - it’s still a school event.” Alecto adored the school more than she’d admit; it was so much better than her house. Nonetheless, the events hardly caught her interest. Social gatherings were some of her least favorite things, and school hardly made them better.
“True, but you of all people know how to make a school event fun. At least according to our standards.” Amycus was at the point of his life where he couldn’t wait to leave Hogwarts, but he would make the most of his time here, especially since it gave him a chance to be around to protect his sister.

“You were staring at the coins,” She explained, “Or perhaps you were simply staring at me, Carrow. I won’t make fun if you were.”
“Are you always this full of yourself?”

“Well we are headed to the hive of the House Elves. Order one to clean up the tunnel.” Rita suggested as they walked. The tunnel was long, but the closer they got the less foul it became. “Dibs? Fine. I’m sure they’ll have enough for us both, anyhow.” She continued, hoping they had some cakes or other sweets lying around. ”So Amycus, tell me if you dare, what’s it like being a Carrow?” She asked, springing the odd question on him.
“Fine, I’ll add it to my to do list.” He replied dryly, even though Amycus probably would end up listening to her advice. “What kind of question is that? I don’t even know how to answer. Or rather, I don’t care to answer.”

“I still haven’t spent my casino money. I need it to be the weekend so I can go to Hogsmeade and benefit from the fact that I quit while I was ahead,” Marlene yawned to the person beside her, casually walking down the hall. “I think I should get rewarded for saying sober enough to actually manage to get away with having money,” She teased.
Amycus stopped mid walk and rolled his eyes. “And this concerns me because?”

Frank watched as the object began floating across the room – not at all what it was meant to be doing. As the object began to float farther and farther away he decided to approach the caster of the spell, clearing his throat slightly as it began to float up to the ceiling. “Uh…do you need some help with that charm?”
Amycus had been testing out a new spell and it wasn’t doing what it was supposed to. The object should have grown and exploded but instead it just floated away. The Slytherin was ready to try again when a voice broke his concentration. He turned to Frank and snarled. “No, I don’t need help.”

Jenny closed her book and looked down at Amycus, to see he hadn’t even opened his eyes. “Well you don’t have to be rude about it.”
Finally, he opened his eyes and proceeded to roll them. “Have to, no. But I choose to be rude. It hasn’t let me down yet.”

“Luck has nothing to do with it. It takes years to build a reputation, and only a moment to ruin one. Luckily Dumbledore only has real power within these walls, and we shall be rid of him soon enough.”
“So you have a plan. A..system so to speak? Hmm..rid of him you say?”

“Well you are lucky to be in your last year. If only i can skip two years.” she smirked “Too young, too glorious for any boy.” she added “ well I know Bella is one of those that you might know who wish to leave this school right away.” Bellas wish to join the war was no secret to her. But she would not dare ask Amycus his plans. The man was dark enough to join too. Of course Cissa disagreed with wars, she just wants a peaceful life without half-bloods and mud-bloods in her company. “There must be something interesting that you have found to do here in the meantime?”
“There’s no way for you to skip two years?” He asked, puzzled. “As it should be, right?” Amycus chuckled. “That doesn’t surprise me.” While the Slytherin boy still had no idea what his plans were for after graduation, the wars were something that peaked his interest. “Let’s just say, I’m still looking for that something interesting. Around here, it is anything but easy to find.”

When it comes to ice cream, I don’t see any reason to be.” Miriam grinned in approval as she filled his bowl for him with chocolate and vanilla and passed it over to him, gesturing grandly towards the toppings. “Help yourself.” She told him brightly as she began to fill her own bowl.

Amycus shrugged in agreement. He grabbed a spoon and dug in, not bothering with any toppings. “Do you do this a lot?”

Alice nodded, maybe a little frantically. “Ok, ok that’s fine. You can write it down if you want, then no one else will hear.”
Amycus shook his head. “No, no writing. I’ll tell you in private later.”

“There is an object I require and I need you to get it for me.”

maliciousxcarrow:
“Less boring than school events usually are, but still uninteresting.” Alecto wasn’t interested in games she couldn’t win, and Casino games were precisely in that category. “Still, we should go.” Social gatherings were mostly always boring, but necessary nonetheless. The mere thought of wasting time buying clothes and dressing up nicely for the event was tiresome enough - it was in such times that she thought maybe it would be nice to have a friend that liked those things. At least the other could choose everything for her. “If we’re lucky, it may be entertaining - and certainly is more than the school usually offer. You’re looking forward to it? Most boys seem to be.”
If there was one thing Amycus hated it was social events. He wasn’t a fan of playing nice and mingling with his peers. But if his sister insisted on attending, of course he would be right by her side. “If you insist.” He said with a low chuckle. “I guess it could be...interesting. I wasn’t looking forward to it at first but now..maybe I’ve had a change of heart.”

It was relieving to have Amycus appear to help - sure, she could handle it on her own, but this wasn’t only easier, it was nicer too. Alecto liked his protectiveness more than she’d admit. “Yeah, I almost forgot about it. Maybe some other time.” She finished the conversation, smiled apologetically towards the other; it wasn’t genuine, but she doubted they’d know that. Once they left, Alecto smiled to Amycus, clearly in a different way from her previous smile towards the other person. “Thank you for that, brother. The persistence was starting to be bothersome.” Having to play nice for some people was always tiresome - fear solved everything more easily, but she couldn’t use that then. “I assume you’ve seen the news about the Casino event already?”
Amycus gave his sister a smile that was only reserved for her. It felt like his duty to protect Alecto but every time she acknowledged him for it, Amycus couldn’t help but feel proud. “It was my pleasure sister.” And it was. Amycus was rarely nice to others unless it would benefit him. Which was why he never minded being the bad guy, especially if it meant saving his sister from a boring or dangerous situation. “As always, you would be correct. This casino night seems to be everywhere. What are your thoughts about this school event?”

Jenny walked briskly through the grass, trying to finish her extra credit Care of Magical Creatures reading as she walked. There never really seemed to be enough hours in the day to get everything done. As she was walking, she almost didn’t notice the Slytherin lying in the grass, and she managed to stop just short of stepping on him. “Whoops, nope. Sorry. I just wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.”
Amycus recognized Jenny’s voice, but still didn’t feel the need to open his eyes or move at all. “Good. Just make sure it doesn’t happen again. I won’t be so kind if it does.”

“The whole event idea is very nice.” It was her reply to the other person commentary about the cassino night. It could be fun, surely - this time she’d admit that. The prospect of needing to go out shopping and listening to her classmates babblering about it though, was no fun at all. She tried not to sound so disinterested, still, simply for the sake of being polite. “I doubt I’m a good company for shopping, though. You should ask someone else.”
“Besides, she already has plans.” Amycus butted in. He just happened to be walking by and thought his sister needed saving from her current conversation.

“Fair enough. I enjoy my walks solo, anyway. It’s easier to learn new things.” Rita kept vague about what those things were. “Well, come along then.” Rita stepped into the surprisingly wide tunnel. It was damp and smelled slightly foul, but it was lit and lacked any nasty surprises. “I hope the House elves left some good stuff out. They know so many students sneak into the kitchens. They’d be almost sweet if they weren’t so repulsive looking.”
“Like what?” The Slytherin, of course, just couldn’t help his curiosity. He reluctantly followed Rita, already not a fan of the tunnel they had to enter. “We should really get someone to clean down here.” He said sneering. “Either way, I call dibs. This was my idea after all.”

Amycus lay on the grass, his eyes closed as he was deep in thought. The Slytherin skipped the rest of his classes today. Maybe it was because he just didn’t feel like going or maybe he had something else on his mind. Either way, the peace and quiet of the outside was just what he needed. Until the Carrow realized that he wasnt alone. “Is there something I can help you with.” Amycus sneered to the intruder. His eyes were still close so he had no idea who he was speaking to just yet.
