dean and cas not only fighting to be together in the story, but beyond it. castiel being repeatedly brainwashed by heaven, the story being repeatedly cut down and denied by the cw, dean having to fight to come to terms with himself, the cw cutting his confession and killing him befor erasing his entire personality outside of his role as caretaker for his straight brother, the characters somehow breaking through the forth wall enough to tell each other that they loved each other after the show had finished even if they were never shown ending up together. tragic in the show and tragic here with us
