My name is Waleed Ayman Alanqar, 27, a father, husband and respected Electrical Engineer from Gaza Strip. I had a peacefull life along with my beloved wife, Areej, 23, and my precious 3-year old son, Ayman.

Sadly, our lives have been devastated since the beginning of the war. We have been forced to leave the comfort of our house to seek shelter in a safer place, but unfortunately, it turned out that there's no such a thing as a "safe place" in Gaza. Now, we are in a state of constant movement and displacement.

HOME, SWEET HOME

11 months ago, we have left our memories in our sweet home to seek refuge in a safer place. Since then, we have not seen our house again! In addition, I have been informed that our memories have been crushed and our home has been damaged! For a small family like us, home means everything. It means warmth, comfort and safety. It is all gone!

Ayman Growing Up in War

My beloved son, Ayman, is now 3 years old, which means that he literally lived the third of his life in war! As a father, I am not only worried about the safety and survival of my precious child, but also about the psychological impacts on him. I want my child to grow up in safe and proper environment. It is his right!

My Professional Career

Before the war, I used to work as an electrical engineer at a big tech company. I was advancing fast in my career and dreaming of establishing my own company someday, however; my dreams are now vanished. I no longer work. My savings have been drained out. All I am thinking about now is how to secure my family and ensure their survival.

Hunger, the harshest of pains

In this war, I have realized that hunger can be the harshest of your pains and the worst of your enemies. I might be able to endure starvation, but I cannot see my kid going through such a pain! Sadly, we are suffering from the lack of food and other necessities and sky-rocketing prices. Believe me, being a father in such circumustances can be a very challenging task!

In a small corner of Gaza, where the lights fade and darkness falls, Mahmoud sat alone, thinking. He was a young man like any other, dreaming of a better future, a safe home, and a job that would provide him and his family with a decent life. But the dream turned into a nightmare, and life into a daily struggle for survival.

Mahmoud's family, which includes 43 members, lived under the burden of siege and war. They lost their homes, and watched their dreams fade before their eyes. Every day was a new challenge, searching for a living amidst the lack of water and electricity, and the fear of bombing that could come at any moment.

"I saw hope in the eyes of my children, but the siege was taking it away from them little by little," Mahmoud says sadly. "They wanted to play in the streets, and go to school, but all that surrounded them was destruction and fear."

Mahmoud's dream now is simple, to get his family out of this hell, and to start a new life in a safe place. But the costs of migration are high, and far beyond their means.

Noha is a story of courage and determination. She reminds us that disability is not a barrier, and that anything is possible if you are determined enough.

I am Heba Al-Dahdouh. I currently live in the completely destroyed city of Gaza. Since the war on Gaza began on 7/1/2024, my family- my father Nasif, my mother Asmaa, and my siblings Khaled, Ahmad, Muhammad, and Malak-have been living in constant fear, crying, and suffering due to shrapnel, shells, and bullets.

We have no food, no electricity, no cooking gas, no schools, no homes, no cleaning supplies, and no clothes. My school has been bombed, and my brother Khaled's university is now rubble, depriving us all of education. The war has forced us to live in displacement centers, which are just tents unsuitable for living, especially in winter.

Every day we live death, terror, and panic a thousand times because of the ongoing bombardment of my city. The war has killed more than 50 of my relatives and neighbors. At the start of the war, we sought refuge at my aunt's house, . Imagine: we have survived imminent death more than 20 times and have been displaced among shelters more than 13 times. My siblings and I have suffered from many illnesses due to malnutrition, and we need medication continuously.

If we stay in Gaza, we might lose our lives. Recently, we have been seriously considering leaving Gaza for a safe place. However, travel costs are extremely high. We need over $50,000 to leave Gaza. Due to exorbitant prices, rampant unemployment, lack of security, the ongoing siege, and relentless bombardment, we have lost all our money. The story started since childhood, when every one I have knowen called me doctor.

and work hard from begining to end, no sleep, no rest, all these things to achieve my goal and make my dream a real one.

After two months, I returned to khanyonis, but not to our home.

I live in tent becuse the israeli occupation burned my house completely, nothing left.

I feel that I lost and continue to lose every thing, this war made my dreams, hopes, my beloved things and my beautiful house burned and disappeared.

The single wish for me at this time is waking up from this nightmare and everything goes back to what it was.

My name is Jaber Al-Haj. I am from Gaza, married to my wife, Menna, and we have a little son named Hashim, who is less than two years old. Like any Palestinian family, we dreamed of a simple and stable life. But the recent war turned our lives upside down. The sounds of explosions never left us, and fear has become part of our daily existence. My son Hashim suffers from health problems that urgently require treatment, but the war has destroyed everything, including the healthcare system, making access to necessary medical care nearly impossible. With each passing day, our suffering deepens, and the fear for Hashim’s health and future consumes me.

Alongside my small family, I used to work with my brothers, Aboud and Bilal, on our joint project—a small lab for producing essential household cleaning products. We started this project with modest resources, dreaming that it would become a source of income to support us and provide job opportunities for our community. But the war left us with nothing. Our lab, which was once filled with life and hard work, was reduced to rubble under the bombardment. We lost our equipment, our livelihood, and with it, a part of our dreams for the future.

Even our home, our only refuge, did not escape the destruction. It was severely damaged and is now uninhabitable. We were forced to flee and live in a tent under harsh conditions unfit for human life. The cold, the heat, the lack of resources, and the absence of privacy have made life nearly unbearable. We try to cope, but every day brings new challenges and suffering.

Today, what worries me the most is my son Hashim's condition. His health is deteriorating, and he desperately needs treatment abroad. However, under the circumstances we’re living in, I lack the means to secure his travel and medical expenses. As a father, there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching my child suffer while being unable to help him.

I’m Anas Basil, a recent high school graduate with dreams of a brighter future through studying e-business management and building a career. But the war has shattered everything. After graduating with a 93% average, I enrolled at Khan Younis Training College (UNRWA), only to find that it’s now a shelter for displaced families instead of a place for education.

My younger brother, Ahmad, 14, is known as the "Doctor of the Future" because of his extraordinary talent in mathematics. However, the war has kept him out of school for two consecutive years. We were displaced from northern Gaza to the south to the city of Rafah. At that time, my daughter Fatima was 4 months old. I was carrying her in my arms, and my son Moin was 3 years old. We walked no less than 8 kilometers on our feet. You can imagine. My son is young. How are his feet? My daughter’s mother is an infant. How was she doing under the sun? We could not stand or rest because the enemy’s weapons were directed at us, but thank God we reached the other side of the sector.

From the city of Rafah, they were displaced once to the city of Khan Yunis, and now in a dilapidated tent, no food, no electricity, no gas, no cooking, no schools, no homes, no hygiene, and no clothes. Our house was bombed and completely demolished. The war forced us to live in displacement centers, which are just tents that are not suitable for living, especially in the winter.

My young son, Moein, 4 years old, was supposed to go to kindergarten this year to learn, play, and get to know the children. Now he goes out every morning and stands in a long line to get water. As for the little girl, Fatima, she suffers from severe pain that does not stop severe coughing due to severe infections. In Al-Sadr, where there are no health centers, all of the centers were bombed and destroyed, and appropriate treatment is not provided.

If we stay in Gaza, we may lose our lives. Recently, we have been seriously considering leaving Gaza for a safe place. However, travel costs are very high. We need more than $20,000 to leave Gaza. Due to exorbitant prices, rampant unemployment, insecurity, ongoing siege and continuous bombing, we lost all our money.
