The Caretaker looks at the former site of the Optimology Building from a VG Cliff. Was the prophecy wrong, or merely incomplete? Perhaps the Order of Blessed Agonies gave Chzo exactly what it wanted...

Mega Man 5 (NES, 1992)

A familiar whistle is heard as Dr. Light and Mega Man are rescued from Wily's collapsing fortress. On a VG Cliff, they (and their saviour) watch as the Wily Capsule narrowly escapes yet another crumbling castle.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii, 2008)

Tabuu, Subspace, and the Isle of Ancients have been sealed away. The main theme plays, its translation shown as our fighters look out from a VG Cliff.

Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos (NES, 1990) [Edited for time, CW: Flashing]

The Demon is defeated again. Ryu laments Irene's fate atop a VG Cliff, but the Dragon Sword's magic returns her life force. The two embrace on the VG Cliff, admiring the beautiful sunset.

Ninja Gaiden (NES, 1989) [Edited for time]

Ryu mourns his father from a VG Cliff as the Temple of Darkness crumbles. Foster calls Irene with orders to kill Ryu. Instead, Ryu swears vengeance, kisses Irene, and they stay on the VG Cliff to watch the sunrise.

Super Mario 64 (N64, 1996)

With Bowser defeated, the end credits recall scenes of Mario's adventure. King Bob-Omb surveys Bob-Omb Battlefield atop a VG Cliff. Mario looks out similarly from Whomp's Fortress.

Celeste (PC, 2018)

At the peak of Celeste Mountain, Madeline admires the view from a VG Cliff. She reflects on her journey, and the personal growth she's experienced along the way.

Mega Man X2 (SNES, 1995)

X watches the sunrise with his newly rebuilt friend Zero. Pondering the futility of an endless war, he fears the sacrifices he will have to make in the name of peace.

Mega Man 2 (NES, 1989)

Dr. Wily is once again defeated, and Mega Man begins his long journey home. When he arrives, he leaves his helmet on a VG Hill, ready to return to a more peaceful life.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (SNES, 1995)

After defeating Kaptain K. Rool at the Krocodile Kore, Diddy, Dixie, and Donkey Kong return to Donkey Kong Island. There, they watch from a VG Cliff as Crocodile Isle explodes and sinks into the abyss.

With Clancy defeated, Ryu Hayabusa reappears from subspace above a VG Cliff. The dimensional warship crashes, taking down Castle Rock Fortress. Ryu and Irene discuss Earth's life and watch the sunrise.

Undertale (PC, 2015) [True Pacifist]

Having finally broken the barrier between the Underground and Surface, Frisk's new friends emerge onto a VG Cliff. There, they share their hopes and dreams for a bright future.

As Sigma's destroyed fortress falls into the sea, X stands alone atop a VG Cliff and contemplates the ethics of fighting for peace.

Axiom Verge (PC, 2015)

Trace, burdened with dark secrets about his existence and the memories of events that seem to have been erased, stands on a VG Cliff to figure out how to carry on.

Blaster Master (NES, 1988)

With the Plutonium Boss and Underworld Lord defeated, the earth shakes and the radioactive cave is destroyed. Jason and Fred witness this from a far-off VG Cliff, sitting on top of Sophia the 3rd NORA MA-01.

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (NES, 1990) [Sypha]

After defeating Dracula, Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades watch Dracula's castle crumble away, sharing a quiet embrace atop a VG Cliff.
