Teenagers are too immature to make their medical descions, but they’re mature enough to drive but they’re too immature to choose the school they want to go to or use the bathroom during class, but they’re mature enough to cook in a fast food place under pressure with blaring alarms and lights and they’re too immature to live in their own but they’re mature enough to have their parents sign a marriage contract on their behalf in states where child marriage is legal but they’re too immature to get a divorce.

They’re mature when they can be exploited but immature when they want to be free.

genuinely fucking hate school

i was in ap euro this one time, and we were just doing a very quick, verbal post-spring break review

and at one point the teacher asked “When was the Thirty Years War?”

I, someone who *cared* about the course material, knew the answer to be “1618-1648”, and said that

One of the other students shouted out, “Oh, of course *you’d* know that”, and the rest of the class started laughing

so yeah, fuck school, the only environment where you can be mocked for doing well
