HEADCANON 004.

before her life was completely upended,  hermès was pretty straightedge when it came to drinking and smoking.   she couldn’t stand the taste of beer or wine,  and the smell of cigarette smoke made her gag.   being so focused on running,  she also didn’t want to mess her body up,  since she was pinning her future on being able to run for a living.   and gloria made sure she ate well,  too,  even with the craziness of running a restaurant on top of it all.   when everything went to shit,  however,  hermès started drinking,  a lot.   blackout drinking,  at that,  to let loose all her pent - up grief and anger and guilt.   whenever she was feeling really strung  -  up,  she would even smoke,  too   ------   which would make her even sicker than the alcohol did,  most times.   she doesn’t really remember much in the first few months after her father passed away and the restaurant went under,  it was that bad.   the police officers in charge of her family’s case tried to put her into the foster care system,  but she fought it tooth and nail,  like she did everything  (  except,  her anger had a terrifyingly explosive edge to it,  now  ).   in the end,  she would spend most nights in homeless youth shelters in the area,  with the world blurred around her.   feeling detached from everything and everyone,  floating head - over - heels in a rift of unreality in between crashing college parties,  defacing or even destroying cars and property,  and getting into violent fights to blow off steam  (  sending her opponents to the hospital nearly every time   ------   many of her previous offenses were misdemeanors linked to vandalism and assault,  often landing her in the drunk tank for a few days or the local jail for a few months,  until she started hatching her plan for revenge,  and aimed for more serious offenses that could get her closer to her sister’s killer  ).   it was an absolute mess   ---------   now,  she still enjoys drinking more than she did as a teenager,  but rarely smokes,  still somewhat sickened by the ashy taste.

just letting you kids know,  my activity is very likely gonna get wonky from here on out,  across all my blogs.   my classes are picking up,  and i’m taking a lot of them  (  17 credits of stem classes  ;  calculus and anatomy are really time - consuming  ).   i’m also working part - time,  and i have a gig with my jam band coming up at the end of the month,  along with a research presentation event around the same time,  not to mention midterms.   i’ll pop by on the weekends or when i really need a break during my down - time,  but i will be keeping to my personal or on skype mostly.   hmu if you want either.   love y’all,  chickadees  !!   good luck w/ everything.
