Baby, times are changing I can see it in your eyes. So why do we keep on pretending why do we even try.

Cupid Wedding Chapel, 1515 Las Vegas Blvd S – 60s, 70s, 80s
The ‘30s-era Cal-Neva Auto Court Motel opened a small chapel on the premises in the late 50s. In the 60s, they moved the chapel into the main building of the motel complex. The motel closed in the 70s, and the chapel continued business.
The chapel was demolished in ‘91 and replaced with a parking area for Olympic Garden cabaret. In the early 90s, the heart-shaped neon sign seen in the top photo was repurposed for the club.

November 4th of 1990 at the Hollywood Palladium. Lonn Friend, the exuberant editor of RIP Magazine, threw a party to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the publication. The highlight of the evening was a one-off set by an impromptu supergroup called The Gak. The band featured members of Guns N’ Roses – Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan, Metallica – James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Kirk Hammett, and Sebastian Bach of Skid Row.
