“I don’t care, what I do care is I won’t let you get in trouble—you do a whole mess anytime you get your ass to kill people out of nowhere, you know?” he simply answered.

He knew there were things Vain could see and Vanitas couldn’t, that’s why he was so worried about him. The raven couldn’t help but feel concerned and he was going to endure all the annoyance, someone had to take care of him now that his dad was all alone and now that…he was in this state.

Vain laughed. Maybe the lack of medication began to affect him and show how he was without them. More aggressive, more uncontrolled, and probably more needy. Sometimes it was as if killing was an obligation, since it seemed to encourage him after so much detesting his own life.

Vanitas noticed Vain’s face against his own hair, he was very sensitive on his hair so he could feel when someone touched it. The raven decided to finally look up to see his father, some tears were on the corner of his red eyes, he felt a bit dizzy already since he’s been dealing with a lot of shit on his mind.

The young God stared at Vain’s beautiful golden eyes, his own were locked for a moment and then he reaized he was staring too much into them, ah crap.”Ah, but you didn’t need to come and—I always push you away so…in fact, I am glad you decided to come anyways.” he felt a bit of warmness on his cheeks, Vanitas wasn’t used to be openly with Vain.

Vain blinked when the other pulled his face away from his chest and looked up at him. Ah, that lovely face so similar to his own. The two looked alike, but the personalities were quite different. Although well, Vain was quite crazy, but at that time he was very calm.

At that moment he touched the face of the other raven and kissed him on the forehead. Then he gave him another hug, without letting go. He really would never let him go, but for that moment it was going to be temporal.

     ❝ Pff you have do that, nothing is normal what it’s something about me. Heh, I’m too stubborn to leave you alone after all. ❞

—- “ Well…Not really ‘hate’. I more of like to bully him and annoy him for attention, plus he’s really easy to tease. But yeah, I do call him hoppy fucker. I’ll see if that B3 girl could get me one, I mean she like probably has 30 right?…Eh, but either way thank you Vain again. “ She spoke with a light chuckle and gave Vain a bear hug since she felt like all this thinking about becoming tall wasn’t really what she needed to think about. She was best to be short and plus she was better that way really, overall Vain is a good dad in her eyes.  She honestly couldn’t really be more grateful to have someone like him as a father figure, she’ll definitely try getting a megaphone from Cathy though. After all it does sound like a good pranking method to annoying others and just get attention in general…maybe she could also learn from Cathy since she always likes to have the spotlight on her right?? Right now though, she didn’t really think about that since she was more happier knowing that she didn’t need to be taller or tall in general.

   --- Vain blinked and smiled. Really ... These guys were pretty energetic. Despite being adults, it seemed that they did not have a childhood to enjoy. Vain, on the other hand, did have it, had a fairly calm childhood, he had a family and had no problems of abuse. But he himself knew that there was something in him that would change and end everything he loved. But that did not matter at all. He was more comfortable with people who were like him. Murderers.

     ❝ I think that Cathy could have my same age, but to be honest I forgot my age so. Yeah surely she’s older than you. And don’t bully a lot or there will be fights everywhere and the reverend will come to punish all us. ❞

The warning seemed like a joke but he knew it was not like that. Anyway, being still crouched, hugged the girl back. If she was happy as she was, everything was fine.

He shrugged and looked down at one of his hands. Hmm…friends. He scoffed and took another drag of his cigarette, tossing it on the ground and gently pressing his foot against it to crush it. He wasn’t too fond of smoking anymore, so he was already done. 

          “ Guess that makes sense. If you regretted it ya wouldn’t be here. ”

Vain stared ahead, he used to finish the cigarette until the end and to smoke a lot but more when he was alone than in company. Then he looked at him out of the corner of his eye. Certainly, if he regretted it, he would not be there anymore. Fang was so damn right.

     ❝ I think is cool be here? I use to help the reverend sometimes, but forbids me to touch the candles of his floor. Hey, what about you? Don’t you like your floor? Well, you look like you don’t care about anything. ❞

Vain stood with his arms folded while listening to that adorable man. Oh come on, Candy looked adorable going like rabbit. And the traces of blood favored him.

    ❝ Yes, like a sibling or friend thing. I don’t think they hate you, it’s just play the same way they do. What about make some trap on their foods or when they wake up? Something funny! But I guess Lucky can help you better with that than me. He’s the clown after all. ❞

—- The tiny , one-eyed women looked at Vain as if she was almost happy or excited. Most of the time people who normally find it weird to just do those things but , Vain was very different. She thought about those comments as it was true, she had more of advantage to kill people and move around easily which was perfect for her in this case. Plus she almost looks like a child so no one will really suspect her to be doing anything like murder, she’s pretty much been thinking about how great it would be to be taller and do things normally..without ever realizing she had her own great strengths and pros.  She grinned as she nodded from hearing the suggestion, she felt pretty good about herself now realizing her own pros and not the cons of it all. “…You’re right, my height does give me a lot of advantages and I’m able to do things most people can’t do-. I might try the megaphone idea on hoppy fucker, I’ve been meaning to prank him for a while but where would I get one?…Do I steal it? “ She wondered as she looked at Vain curiously on what to do

Wow, Vain had done a good deed today, had made Rana happy and made her think that being short wasn’t a problem. It's true, she had to value herself more. He deserved to go to smoke, although right now he was not going to do it, better after talking to her.

At that moment he blinked when she asked about how to get a megaphone. Oh, he knew where they could find megaphones without having to leave the building. He had one but it was his --- But Cathy sure had several of them.

    ❝ Yeah, steal it from floor B3. That girl has some of ‘em. Or just ask her for one, I don’t think she’ll tell you no--- Wait. Hoppy fucker? Who are ‘em? Ah don’t tell me, Candy? You two hate each other that much? ❞

Bad? Yeah he guessed they could be terrible if they took over your life. He looked at Vain, examining him. He has some obsessions right? Hmm…

          “ Don’t ya like fire or somethin? ”

Believe it or not, even though he found everyone in this god forsaken building annoying and beyond sane, he didn’t forget important tidbits. He did know a few things about certain people, certain things that people might completely ignore or forget eventually. It wasn’t out of an caring or being interested, it was just for convenience. 

Vain threw the smoke up while listening to the other’s question. Like the fire, it was as if he loved it. It was clearly an obsession, even considered a mental illness. He scratched the back of his neck and then looked at him askance, it was certainly like that.

     ❝ I’m pyromaniac, I was diagnosed after having burned my best friend alive. My family wanted to help me but it was a bit late, it was really fun, I do not regret what I did in the past.  ❞

Why was he telling him that? Well, Vain liked to talk, and he did not mind talking about it. He had no traumas over his past despite having seen his closest people burning. Hahaha... These years, yeah, he lost control.

          “ I used to smoke pretty regularly before I came here.                I stopped because there’s no need to for me. ”

Vain really made it sound like an addiction…fuckin weird ass. He ignored it though, convinced himself it was just Vain being his usual self. Hearing his other question though…he scoffed. Obsessions? No. If anything, Fang had nothing. He had nothing to obsess over…ever.

           “ No. I didn’t. Don’t think I ever will, either. ”

He took a moment to breathe in the addictive smoke again. Well, luckily it was usually hard for him to be addicted to stuff like that. It was nice in the moment but afterwards to him, it was like nothing happened. 

Vain stared at him while he held the cigarette in his hand. So then, Fang smoked but after arriving here there was no need to do it? Huh, he looked too tense to stop smoking out of nowhere. But hey, that was his problem, he was not going to get into how to find calm in this place, because it was difficult.

Then, obsessions. Vain he had them, enough in fact, like able to control someone, to see something or someone burn, burn in general--- Things like that could cause Vain to lose his mind, but in the meantime he used to try to be a calm man.

     ❝ Good to know, they’re pretty bad. ❞

That wasn’t the way he expected it to be lit but he wasn’t phased. He breathed in the smoke, letting it linger before blowing it out slowly. Vain’s smiling face was so irritating…ugh. Whatever. He ran a hand through his hair, letting the hood on his head fall. 

          “ … ”

Sitting there, smoking in silence…it was nice, he’d be willing to admit that much. He never got the chance to relax, so when the opportunity was there he’d grab it. He also didn’t care if Vain talked now, as long as he didn’t bug him too much.  

For once, Vain was not the only one enjoying the moment. He was sure that Fang was relaxing this time. The truth, it amazed him to have gotten that, could he again invite him to smoke another day? Maybe the other one finds it nice. Well, at that time he could talk again, right? Hm, although he was not sure if to start a conversation, he didn’t want to bother this good moment. But, let’s try it.

     ❝ I didn’t know you smoke, did you left it or something? I know this shit is so damn bad but, know being burned inside makes me want to smoke more. ❞

Then Vain looked at the lighter and lit it for a moment, watching the little flame. He narrowed his eyes. Nor he could understand that passion for fire. That great, powerful, capable of destroying, element.

       ❝ Fang? Did you have any obsession in your life? ❞

Staring at the cigarette, he debated taking it before sighing. Okay, he’d do it. He took it and looked at the other. He’d have to take off his mask but…they were alone right? Vain was an ass but he doubt he’d go shouting around that he saw his face. 

          “ We don’t talk ‘bout this. ”

Was all he said before he pulled down his mask, revealing the rest of his face. He put the cigarette against his lips before glancing back at Vain. 

          “ Light it. ”

Vain blinked when the other took the cigarette and put it against his lips. Had he really accepted it? Inwardly he felt happy, but on the outside he decided not to show anything. Even so, he was a man of many faces, could be as he wanted, he did not care to change his personality, since the real one was an empty space.

Whoa wait Fang showed his face, he was beautiful??

When the other said not to talk about this and then asked to light the cigarette, instead of using his lighter, he approached his face in front of the other, bringing his cigarette already lit to the other’s to light it. After that he moved away, remained seated and looking forward.

     ❝ Oh fine, we don’t talk about this. ❞ Vain was damn smiling there.
