Getting the Basics Right – Infrastructure as a Service
See on Scoop.it - Business Implications of The Cloud
"Because IaaS provides access to a large pool of standardized computing power, the on-demand and self-provisioned aspects give developers access more processing power or more storage for their applications within minutes, rather than having to wait weeks for new servers or disks to arrive. This should mean faster development and applications that aren't constrained by a lack of computing resources.
And because IaaS is a proven rental model, developers only pay for what they use, which means it can be more cost-effective than owning the infrastructure for an application that has very variable loads — one that likely gets very busy at certain times of the month or year."

A Hybrid Cloud Computing Solution Made to Order | VAZATA
See on Scoop.it - Business Implications of The Cloud
When one of our long-time customers, FC Dallas, came to us for a hybrid cloud solution, we custom designed an optimal solution for them. FC Dallas is a professional American soccer club that competes in Major League Soccer. After doing a cost evaluation of some needed hardware and more business continuity to support critical applications, a hybrid cloud solution was the best possible answer.
Our customer needed applications that included CRM, ticketing, finance and communications, so we went to work designing a custom-built private cloud deployment, fully integrated with VAZATA’s multi-tenant IaaS platform for disaster recover capability. By augmenting the platform with disaster recovery features, we put in place network services, managed service and three Tier-III data centers that have each completed SSAE-16 Type II audits.

Is Hybrid Cloud Just A Trendy Buzzword or the Future of IT?
See on Scoop.it - Business Implications of The Cloud
With the increasing demand of hybrid cloud services available to us via the cloud, the question arises: “Is colocation and hybrid cloud evolving”? Answer:  An unqualified yes.  And, companies want options.
Whether it’s colocation or hybrid cloud, offering as many options as possible is the overarching solution.  Security is no longer a barrier to choosing entry into the cloud.  Airtight security and best in class compliance are available, but selecting the provider that’s right for you is an important first step.
Colocation hosting solutions enable organizations to house their IT configuration, or any part of their IT setup, in a third-party data center. This means that companies can build a private cloud and lease data center space to meet the network, power and cooling demands of the system.

Why Outsourcing Information Technology is Business Smart | VAZATA
See on Scoop.it - Cloud Hosting Solutions By outsourcing IT services through Managed Services, you can save time, money and the burden of trying to manage it all yourself.
IT outsourcing converts fixed IT costs into variable costs and allows you to budget more effectively. In other words, you only pay for what you use when you need it. Hiring and training an IT staff can be very expensive, and temporary employees don't always live up to your expectations. Outsourcing IT lets you focus your human resources where you need them most. If you’re not IT trained, how do you assure an employee is qualified? Certifications are important, but so is experience. Having experienced IT professionals on your team can make all the difference in a smooth running business; however, organizations that try to do all the IT services in-house themselves can incur much higher research, development and implementation time – all of which increase costs – costs that ultimately must be passed on to customers. A quality outsourced IT service organization will have the resources to start new projects right away. Handling the same project in-house might involve weeks or months to hire the right people, train them, and provide the support they need. For most implementations, quality IT companies will bring years of experience in the beginning saving time and money. Businesses have limited resources, and every manager has limited time and attention. Outsourcing IT services can help your business stay focused on your core business and not get distracted by complex IT decisions. Every business investment carries a certain amount of risk. Markets, competition, government regulations, financial conditions, and technologies all change very quickly. By relying on competent, proven IT outsourcing services, you can avoid the frustrations of market fluctuations and changing business environments.
